Heroes: The Fix Is In?

Heroes: The Fix Is In?

I've been pretty vocal about how bad Heroes has been lately (in fact, I recently offered up a list of seven things they could do to make it stop sucking) and I'm not alone. But I am somewhat surprised that the powers that be actually seem to be listening. Or at least Tim Kring is making a move to stop the madness.

They recently fired writers/executive producers Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loep, and today it was announced that Kring is trying to get back to basics. He's keen on simplifying the stories and is going to be more hands-on in script development and really working on the tone of the show. Though I'm not sure that the overcomplicated stuff is as much a problem as the massive, ever-growing cast of characters, these all sound like steps in the right direction. However, I fear that it may be too little too late.

Can they really make me like Hiro again after he's become this annoying, stupid caricature of himself whom I hope on a weekly basis will meet his fate at Ando's hand? Will I ever be able to see Peter as anything but a whiner? Is it possible that in "fixing things" they'll take away the few new developments that I actually like, such as the convoluted familial relationship between Nathan, Sylar, Peter and Mama and Papa Petrelli? Who knows? But they've got til the end of this season to win me over (though admittedly the most recent episode was actually sort of decent... kinda) before I give up completely.

Your thoughts? Do you think these changes will make any difference in the quality of the show? Will you keep watching? What would you like to see happen next? If you missed the latest episode, you can watch it below.
