BLOGS
Yesterday I watched the Battlestar Galactica trailer and started counting down the days until this show returns on January 16th. Today NBC unveiled their winter schedule, and while there was some other information in there that I'm sure I'll examine more closely later on, one bit stuck out like a bright beacon of hope. Friday Night Lights is returning to network TV on that very same evening. My cup and DVR runneth over.
Yeah, they are both airing at 9 o'clock, but thanks to the wondrous advances in modern technology, I'm able to record both. Yes, I know there will be problems when Dollhouse debuts in that same time slot in February (which is not doing any favors for this poor new series), but let me get through January first.
I know that this won't be a problem for those folks out there who have DirecTV and have already watched Friday Night Lights, but not all of us were able to. So I saw the premiere, thanks to a screener, got beyond excited by the promising new season, and then have had to sit and impatiently wait for NBC to air it. Which, to be honest, I kind of thought might not actually happen. I'm a little gun shy lately and more than a bit skeptical, and while I know it was in their plan and part of the deal, I just worried that something would happen, or that Crusoe would be this fabulous amazing hit and they wouldn't need to bring back my beloved FNL, but thankfully I appear to have worried for naught.
I can't wait to see what happens on FNL. I've tried hard to avoid "spoilers," and whatnot, and really, if I had the energy would be jumping up and down with anticipation for both BSG and FNL.
Are you excited? Did you already watch FNL and deem this not a big deal? Do you watch either of these shows? Let us know.

I'm quite a fan of this FNL season. I'm hoping beyond hope that enough people watch it on NBC that it gets picked up for a 4th season, though I know it's unlikely.
HOLY FRACK BATMAN!! What is a girl who works Friday nights and only has only one DVR to do?!?!?!?!?!
This just gave me another reason for Friday being my favorite day of the week. I've already been watching FNL, but with the outstanding season I will definitely watch it again on NBC. If only to help boost ratings for a hopeful fourth season. That and to see Riggins shirtless, obviously.
My understanding of the Friday night scheduling is Sarah Connor at 8, Dollhouse and FNL at 9, and BSG at 10, meaning the latter 3 are not all on at the same time. Maybe it's different for folks in other timezones? But if that's how it stays for me, that's definitely going to beat out Monday as my favorite TV viewing night! (I have a feeling I'll be watching FNL on Saturday, though, because football right in the middle of or after all that sci-fi is just gonna feel odd.)
We've been watching on DirectTV and it has definitely been just as good this season as it ever was. In fact, they made some very smart decisions on the new characters they've introduced and how they've handled some who are transitioning out.
