Ruh roh! The bell is about to toll for Lipstick Jungle. Or so says an anonymous NBC exec, who intimates that the CBS show Numb3rs, which shares the same Friday night time slot, is murdering LJ ratings-wise. Is it because the target demo (upwardly mobile gays and ladies in their mid-thirties to fifties) are out getting their Cosmos on during LP's 10 PM Friday slot while all the Mathletes sit at home watching Numb3rs and playing WoW?
More likely, LJ jumped the shark with its rehashed Sex and the City conceit. The first season showed some promise, but as season two has plodded along, the characters have become less and less relatable, and subsequently less and less likable. Those new Volkswagen Routan ads only serve to remind me that Brooke Shields is much better suited to comedic roles. It pains me to watch that fembot Kim Raver faux-emote almost as much as it must hurt her to get a faceful of Botox injections. And as for Lindsay Price's character, it seems that her smugness has increased while her storyline has become less and less plausible. So much as I like losing myself in the trials and travails of rich assholes real and imagined, I'm not particularly sad to see Lipstick Jungle go.
Would you mourn the loss of Lipstick Jungle? Or would you say good riddance to bad rubbish?

I completely disagree with you, I love Lipstick Jungle and would be pissed if NBC pulls the plug on it. If you don't like it, don't watch it but don't blab your opinion to others who might enjoy the friendship, fashion and fabulous New York City.
It's her job to "blab her opinion." No one is forcing you to agree with it, or to read it (to apply your own advice).
I'm enjoying the show, but it will be no great loss for exactly the reasons Lauren listed. I'll miss Brooke Shields, though.
