And the cancellations begin! As much as I've been enjoying weecapping My Own Worst Enemy for all you nice people, not to mention watching Christian Slater do some sexy kung fu movies every week, quite often shirtless, after the way the show dropped off in entertainment value since the pilot, I'm fine with it being canceled. At this point, it's unclear whether Monday's episode will be pulled from the schedule, or if NBC will decide to show the remaining five that have been shot. Either way, the series has wrapped for good after shooting only nine episodes, due to crap ratings. Sigh, I will miss seeing Christian Slater every week. Can we work on getting him a better series, Hollywood? Now, on to Lipstick Jungle.
I love Brooke Shields, but LJ just isn't my kind of show. I've seen a few episodes and they bored the hell out of me, but that may have just been me. What I'm saying is I have no idea if it was good or not because I don't know anything about its genre. Anyway, after a humiliating move from Wednesday nights to Friday nights, Lipstick Jungle sunk to a lowly three million viewers per week, and has been given the axe as well. As with My Own Worst Enemy, the show has shot 13 episodes, but it's unclear if the remaining eps will air.
Will you miss either show? And most importantly, let's play the blame game! I blame Heroes being a crappy lead-in for My Own Worst Enemy's fall, mostly because it's not like people won't watch an action show because it makes no sense and has muddled plotlines (I'm looking at you, Prison Break.) Which network shows do you think are next? My (dirty, sexy) money's on Dirty Sexy Money.

Sadly, I do believe Pushing Daisies and DSM will be next. Life on Mars will probably finish out the season, but that's it.
The bad things about these cancellations is that they don't air the remaining episodes, and fans are left hanging, never knowing how the story ends. Still, I fully understand why those two got the ax. I fear for Pushing Daisies; it's too artsy for the average viewer, but I like it.
These two shows were Mad Men brilliant, but only when one compares them with the abysmal knight rider.
I will miss Enemy. I hope it gets picked up by a cable channel.
This is why I tend to DVR new shows nowadays. I'll watch the first 1-2 episodes to see if I want to keep it on the DVR list then wait a few weeks to see if it survives cancellation before watching the rest. I have limited time during the week, so can't often catch up right away. I really liked Enemy though, so I hope it gets picked up somewhere else.
I thought Enemy was great. Amazing potential which I will now not get to see. Bah
LJ was like comfort food; warm, reminded you of something that was better back in the day (like SATC) and easy to watch.
Enemy had so many plot holes it started sinking before the pilot was even over.
Lipstick Jungle only held interest for me as long as I got a glimpse of the sexy Andrew McCarthy. Now I won't get to see him at all! Sigh.
What! No Christian Slater? I can't see why...it was very entertaining. I hope they let us see the final episodes.
NBC still has a one more sheep to shear, named Crusoe. I'm not really into getting pissed over a show being cancelled but for Pushing Daisies I might make an exception(if it ever came to that).
It never fails. Every year, there's at least one new series that I get hooked on but doesn't survive the first season. Frankly, I'm not surprised that My Own Worst Enemy got the axe. It's one of only two new shows this year that I actually liked. (In case you're wondering, Life on Mars is the other one.)
Frankly, Pushing Daisies was the contender last season, and as much as I love it, I'll be amazed if it lasts 'til the end of the season. (Happy, sure, but still amazed.)
