I just found out that Neil Patrick Harris, who goes by St. Neil around these parts, will be hosting Saturday Night Live when the show returns on January 10th. This is the best thing I've heard about that show since Jon Hamm started hawking John Hams. Any regular readers will know that I think the erstwhile Doogie Howser and current Barney Stinson can do no wrong. Especially if he's singing!
One can only hope that the nice long holiday break gives the SNL writers some time to come up with the clever material that he deserves. Because he can do anything. Even be evil. I hope those writers get cracking now. I expect at least one riotous digital short that involves a new catchy musical number and/or laser cats. Preferably both. You hear me writing staff? Don't let me down.
On a personal note, if anyone is looking form me during the week of January 10th, I'll probably be sitting in our elevator bank at the 30 Rock offices hoping for a glimpse of him. It isn't often that you get to see a saint. The last time I saw him on the streets of New York (several years back) he held the door for me at a deli. See, he really does deserve that saintly status.

I haven't watched SNL in years, but THAT would be more than enough to make me tune in. More than awesome! Can't wait to see what Neil does. I hope he gets to contribute to the sketch ideas (or at least adlib here and there) because he's very quick-witted. Thanks for the alert! This is not to be missed.
Reason to watch SNL. At least the first half hour before they completely run out of ideas. And then I am only watching if he is singing and/or shirtless. What, Saints can't be hot?
