Never say that I don't give credit where credit is due. Heroes pulled out all the stops for last night's "Dual," the finale of its "Villains" Volume. Lately, they've even begun the practice of actually killing off some of their ridiculously sized cast. On that front, I'm pleased. For now. If Volume 4 unfolds with Arthur Petrelli, Elle, or Meredith stopping by for lunch, I'll lose it. But kudos for reintroducing actual danger into Heroes.
On the other hand, why is Mohinder alive and Meredith dead? This is not a fair trade. I understand that Elle had to go (although, who else wanted to see Elle and Sylar roam Heroes as Bonnie and Clyde?), but Mohinder deserved death. He has outlived his usefulness to this show. As opposed to Meredith, who turned out to be one of the few awesome things of this season. We haven't spent nearly enough time with her, and we seem to have spent an interminable time with Fly!Mohinder. But of course, he gets a miracle cure and she gets a fiery death.
This is just one example of a switch I'd make. Elle for Niki/Jessica/Tracy is another. And I'd give pretty much anything to have David Anders back on my TV as well.
Despite this, I do have to say that I was unexpectedly touched by Meredith's death scene. Not happy about it, but was a pretty good moment. See it below:

While I agree with most of your post, I'm just not sure Meredith is really dead. I know she basically became a human torch and brought down the Company building with her, but fire being her power, once the adrenaline comes down, I'm not sure she'll be harmed.
I doubt Meredith is dead, too. Remember, this is the second time she has supposedly died in a burning building. And the last time it was an apartment building.

iqmdp zgsd zitsaf, indeed.
Ah, spambots.
Maybe they'll kill him this season.
