Today's TWoP News: February 18, 2009

It's Wednesday, or hump day as those always peppy radio DJ's used to be obsessed with calling it (Do they still? I never listen to morning "drive-time" shows any more). And "hump day" is a stupid term for it anyway, but what the hell, this abbreviated week is already half over and now it is time to start cementing your weekend plans. Which, if you are me, involve digging through my closet looking for my old mix tapes, because the first news item has me feeling a little retro nostalgic.

Stop. Hammertime. No seriously, is there a way to stop the production of Hammertime? It's the newest reality show offering giving us an insight into the life of M.C. Hammer, which frankly, I don't give a rat's ass about. And A&E will be airing it. Not sure there's art or entertainment involved in this program. It's supposed to be about M.C. Hammer's well-adjusted life raising five kids. Um, riveting. Unless he busts out the pants and starts dancing, I'm bored already.

At least someone making reality shows has some good sense. TLC (who already is home to the Duggar brood and the Gosselin clan) insist that they are not interested in taking on Octomom, no matter how much she tries to look like Angelina Jolie. They've got enough damned babies over there to keep them busy. Though I'm sure some network desperate to capitalize on America's fascination with ginormous families or multiple births will be picking up this show in no time. A&E, have we got a show for you.

My Boys will be back on March 31... for the one other person out there aside from me who actually cares what happens to PJ and her pals.

Even Bob Barker stopped watching The Price Is Right. I knew nothing good could come out of Drew Carey taking over.

Parker Lewis Can't Lose is finally coming to DVD! Am I the only one excited by this one? The news is just full of things that only I like today.

Dolly Parton got dissed by Hannah Montana. The gorgeous music legend was approached to reprise her TV role for the newest big-screen installment, and then they left her hanging. Well, there goes the only reason I would have had to go see it.
