I know I already wrote a whole big post about why Chuck should get a third season, and even Josh Schwartz doesn't know if his show stands a chance in hell at coming back, but after this week's episode, I'm going to be hella pissed off if this show doesn't return next fall. I'm not joking. "Chuck Versus the Colonel" was one of the most enjoyable and well rounded hours of television I've watched in a very long time. It was romantic, funny, had lots of resolution and was filled with explosions. Everything a girl could want, or at least everything this girl could want. If it weren't for the last two minutes, it could have been a finale for the show. Instead, we've got more badass Chevy Chase coming our way next week for an episode that Schwartz claims will not give fans closure they want if it ends up being the series finale. Well, damn. So I'm going to try and think positive, I've got my fingers and toes crossed for renewals, I've started mumbling little prayers in the elevators here at 30 Rock on the off chance that some exec might be listening and take it to a higher power and I'm going to celebrate the time we have left ... however long that is. With that, here were my five favorite moments from Monday's episode.
1. Chuck and Sarah in bed
Not in the dirty way it sounds at all, but in the mushy most romantic way this show knows how. After two years of so much "will they/won't they" drama, this was the perfect place to turn it into a "they will" moment. Chuck and Sarah woke up snuggled in each others arms and then started making out. It just felt so right, not awkward or super sexy, just Chuck and Sarah. Of course it was interrupted, as was their prison smooching, but together they are so sweetly wonderful... until inevitably something tears them apart.
2. Tron screening
For a show that started out about a gamer who got sucked into the spy world by a computer message, having Chuck's dad send a secret signal that involves Tron only makes sense. But the best part of this creepy drive-in scene (aside from the air strikes and massive explosions that followed) was Chuck's dad rigging the Intersect so it would deprogram his son, giving our nerdy hero his non-spy life back.
3. Captain Awesome
Who knew that Awesome had breaking and entering skills, or that he'd punch Casey in the face to protect Chuck? I guess that's why they call him awesome. Loved the way he handled finding out Chuck's big secret and the look on his face when he tried desperately not to spill the beans to Ellie. Well played, Awesome.
4. Colonel Casey
Having Awesome think that Casey was a stalker made a lot of sense, actually. But having Casey feel left out of the Chuck dad saving mission was a great way to explore the softer side of the tough guy. He even risked his dream job, and shared credit for the Fulcrum takedown with Sarah. This is not the Casey I know, but it sure is the Casey I love.
5. Chef Morgan
Sometimes the Buy More scenes seem a bit tacked on, but having the last few weeks lead up to Morgan as a disgruntled Ass Man (assistant manager) was very clever, and made those over-the-top Godfather homages all worth it. Having Morgan rip off his shirt, pick up his girlfriend and head off to Hawaii to achieve his dream of becoming a Benihana chef was the best way to say take this job and shove it.
There were, of course, so many more things I loved -- the General hanging up on Chuck, Ellie's face when she saw her dad, Chevy Chase all bedraggled, Casey's quick change, Morgan borrowing Chuck's condom, Jeff and Lester blowing the power... the list goes on and on. But basically, it showed off everything this series has to offer, while taking things to a whole new level. I only wish it hadn't been followed up by the most snooze-inducing episode of Heroes ever, so that I could at least have ended my evening on a high note. Next week is the finale, god willing just for the season, and it looks unsurprisingly awesome as well. I can't wait.

This was the best Chuck has ever been. Had this been it's parting bow, I could have gone one somehow knowing in my mind that everything worked out for this lovable character. I am looking forward to the finale and keeping my fingers crossed that it is not a swan song, just a short goodbye for the summer.
Chuck was fun from the beginning, but this past half season in particular has just been, well, awesome. I have absolutely no idea why such a show should be on the cusp of cancellation or why its ratings are not so good.
I have loved Chuck from episode one, but I have to say that last nights episode was the best I've ever seen! I have never been more entertained by a television show. Oh how I wish that this show reached out to a bigger audience! If your not watching Chuck, you should be.
I love Chuck so much! I was visiting NY this weekend and took the NBC tour, then totally bought a Chuck t-shirt because I just know that's going to be the deciding factor in bringing this awesme show back. ;)
Awesome declaring Chuck's spyhood awesome was... awesome. Ryan McPartlin finally getse a little character development! Loved how square and dorky he was upon finding out (the salute), and getting to see him be BAD at something (being cool with Ellie). Adam Baldwin also got to emote - the flicker of hurt feelings when complaining about being left out of the Dad rescue mission. A great hour of TV.
I've also been aboard the Chuck love train since day one and I think this episode was the best they've done. Hilarious, touching, exciting and with still an episode to go! I'm already spitting curses at Jay Leno if his show is the reason we don't get another season of Chuck. For me, it's the most consistently entertaining show on TV right now.
I love Chuck, last's night episode was awesome. I hope that Monday's episode is not the last.
That was a totally fun episode. We kept thinking, 'Is this the season finale?' So glad we get at least one more... But I must add my love for the Buy More gang. They are almost my favorite part of this show, and if we do get another season, and they are not there, I would miss them terribly.
Chuck and Life are the two shows I have my fingers crossed for. NBC is killing me over here!!
Everything you said about this episode is spot on and it was a pure joy to watch. I just hope that next weeks is not the last, come on NBC be smart and save this show.
Every minute was just... awesome. I'd be really happy - if not for the fear of cancellation. Chuck himself was the epitome of smart and funny and sexy, Casey was both a badass AND a sap, Sarah was beautiful, subtle and kickass. And Awesome found out! And punched Casey! And Chuck bought Ellie her wedding present! I loved every minute of this episode.
Also wondering if Morgan might bump into Harry Tang when he gets to Hawaii!
I LOVED this episode of Chuck. This show has been amazing for the past season, but this episode was so good.
I absolutely loved the show build on the make out session between Chuck and Sarah. Waking up slowly and stroking each others hands and then finally being awake and realizing what you're doing and being ok with it. (sigh) I totally squeeed.
This show cannot possibly be canceled. Please NBC, don't do this!!!
That was the BEST episode of Chuck yet! I've loved this show since the first episode and will be VERY upset if next week is the last new episode we get of this fantastic show. It is smart, funny, romantic and action filled all at the same time. It has something for everyone!
Please NBC, listen to the fans and keep this show!!!

This was the greatest episode ever. Like Angel said, if this had been the final episode of the season (or, god forbid, the series) it would have been perfect. You could plan in your head that Chuck's life was on an upswing as he got the girl, got his dad, has a rough 'n' tough spy friend, and has his life in order to be the big guy he should have been before the hated Bryce Larkin.
I really hope that this show sticks around. I can't wait to see the game changer (I have an idea what it could be, but I'm not goin' to say it for fear that it's true) and see it play out in future seasons. PLEASE NBC, don't cancel our beloved geeky spy. Please!
I'm going to record next Monday's season finale, and then wait until NBC announces whether or not "Chuck" is coming back. If they cancel it, then the finale may well remain unwatched - unsarcastic thanks to Josh Schwartz for telling us there's no resolution coming - and my personal ending of the show will be the lovely, small moment where we see Chuck and Sarah holding hands.
I've decided to look at this show as if it were a BBC product, where they routinely end even successful shows after two or three seasons of six episodes or so. By that measure, we've gotten about seven seasons of "Chuck." As much as I'd miss it, it's nice to have a great show go out on a high note. (Ditto the also-great "Life.")
I've loved Chuck since day 1 but for real this last episode would go in my list of top 10 episodes of tv ever, if I had such a list. I'm almost afraid to watch the finale, because if Chuck's not renewed, I'd love to remember the show exactly the way it ended Monday (without the last Chevy Chase scene). I don't know if any show has had a more satisfying ending than that would be. But of course I'll be watching again Monday regardless. I could never stand to miss a moment of Chuck or Casey or even the Buy More crew, and now the Bakula, too! Pleeeeeeeease, TV, don't take my Chuck and his new awesome daddy away from me - haven't I suffered enough the last 2 seasons?
