Wondering who the woman in the photo is? Think back to a time of professional parents who were home all the time and crazy sweaters and Lisa Bonet without dreadlocks...yes, I'm talking about The Cosby Show! Man, that show was awesome. But if I were going to give one of those actors a reality series, it probably wouldn't be Keshia Knight Pulliam...what do you mean who's that, she's the one who played Rudy! C'mon people, the littlest Huxtable? She loved her little neighbor Bud? She sang "Night Time is the Right Time"? She was completely upstaged once Raven came into the picture? Oh well, I tried...
Oxygen announced their upcoming programming yesterday, and apparently they have decided to give over their entire channel to Tori and Dean. Mr. and Mrs. Makeover sounds, well, questionable -- Dean's a nice guy but why is he giving me hair advice? -- but their "romantic comedy telepic" just seems unnecessary. Luckily, if you're tired of them there's always Keshia and Kaseem, starring the aforementioned Rudy Huxtable!
Did you know that Fantasia Barrino has been nominated for nine Grammys? Now you do. Did you know that she's getting her own series on VH1? Now you know that too.
Where have all the animated series gone (we're looking at you, now live-action-filled Cartoon Network)? To TBS! The network has greenlit their first animated series, Neighbors from Hell. And before you go thinking this is just another series about wacky life in suburbia, these neighbors actually are from Hell. As in, they're a demon family sent to prevent humans from winding up in the bad place. Serious competition for a certain Mr. Ned Flanders...
Anyone else weirded out by that bald, expressionless dude in the Idol audience last week? That wasn't some Prop-8-voting stiff who couldn't deal with the flamboyant awesomeness of Adam Lambert, it was The Observer from Fringe! He's already been spotted in the stands at some sporting events on the network, and he'll continue to appear at other Fox events. Hey, maybe he could guest on Bones -- everyone else is!
Jennifer Jason Leigh, also known as the chick from Fast Times at Ridgemont High and then a bunch of indie movies, has been cast as Nancy's estranged older sister Jill on the upcoming season of Weeds. However, I care about this a lot less than I care about Conrad coming back.
Know who has no business trying to survive in the frozen mountains of Sweden? Will Ferrell! But that didn't stop him from guest starring on an upcoming episode of Man vs. Wild in which he does just that, with the assistance of Bear Grylls, of course. Disturbingly, Ferrell claims that he "got urine-drunk" which I pray is a joke but fear is not. The things some people will do to promote Land of the Lost...
And finally, it seems that Golden Girls fans still angry over the show's move from Lifetime to the Hallmark Channel have another way to catch their favorite spunky geriatrics -- as long as they speak Turkish! Yes, Disney has allowed a Turkish remake of the sitcom, which seems odd because those ladies are already plenty funny in English. Dub that shit. If they must do an entire reboot, how about something that could potentially be improved, like Two and a Half Men? Or maybe give Smallville a chance to start over. Or I know -- Rock of Love: Bus in Turkish! That would be good TV.
