American Idol: Allison, I Know this World Is Killing You...

Last week, the last girl on American Idol got voted off, leaving one awesome guy, one kinda-okay guy and Danny Gokey. (Bias! It's what's for dinner!) We listened in on Allison's exit interview to see what she had to say about going home, and how she and Adam traded styling tips.

After Danny's "Dream On" ending scream, a lot of people felt he had effectively knocked himself out of the competition. In light of the reviews that he and Chris got, paired with your well-received performance and duet on Tuesday night, were you feeling pretty confident going into Wednesday night?

Allison Iraheta: You know, I really don't know how to say it, because it was weird. I've been in the bottom three so many times and I was just really prepared for anything. I've got to say, everyone... is prepared and when it was down to me and Danny I was like, whoa it's either him or me and it was me. So I'm pretty happy that I made it that far, and I'm just glad that I got the opportunity to be on that stage, you know.

I wanted to ask you about the constant comment that you got from Simon, about the lack of ...

Allison Iraheta: Yes, I got this all day today, and I'm just going to -- it was like, every week it was so boring, I'm boring and I have no personality and I'm like, "Okay, Simon," you know? I'm really not the kind of person that talks back, you know, it's just like having respect. I just don't talk back. But I mean the show; he was like, "Start begging." And I was like, "You know what, that's it." I really just felt it was the perfect time to stand up for myself and I was like, "Alright, I'm not who you are saying I am. I'm not boring, first of all, and you say I don't talk," and I was like "I might as well just talk." So it was really just me, I was like, "I feel this is the perfect time for me to come in."

Were you assigned Adam for last week's duets, or did you choose the pairing? You also went to his stylist -- how did that work out?

Allison Iraheta: We chose. We've thought about doing a duet for a while now, and we were like, "Oh we've got to do one, it's going to be fun." And "Slow Ride" was on the list, and we were like, "That sounds like fun, we should really do that." And then he had originally told me about his friend Abrea. Who has done his hair for like two years and I was like, "Hey, I want to go to her, she does his hair really well, so I need to go to her." And then she hooked me up and we totally just really had fun and it was great. And we're even planning on doing that song on the tour. It's going to be fun.

Did you have a parent stay with you in the Idol mansion?

Allison Iraheta: A parrot?

A parent, like your mom or dad.

Allison Iraheta: Yes, I had my mom stay with me.

Did that cramp your style at all?

Allison Iraheta: Not really, she was just so much support, my mom. I was very lucky to have her with me the whole time, she was just very supportive. And she knew that when I was singing it was just a whole different story, and she was like, "Alright, I'll let you do what you've got to do," so it was pretty awesome that I had her with me.

So, obviously, you were the girl holding down the fort the last couple of weeks, and it definitely seems like you have like a little-sister relationship with all these guys. Did they treat you like a little sister?

Allison Iraheta: Oh yes, there was a lot. It was so fun, like, they would pick on me, because they were having a little argument and I'd be like, "Yeah" and they're like, "You stay out of this, you're only 12 years old." And I'm like "Aw." It's love; you know, it's so cool. But then I'd be the one that would be like, "You would da, da, da, da"; and they'd be like, "Fine, fine." It was like a family, just really great, and we all got along so well. And, really, it felt like I was their little sister, and they would really stand up for me. And the cool thing is that they would help me with, like, song choice, and we would all help ourselves and it was great.

Are you sad Allison went home? Glad? Let us know below, not that it will make a lick of difference.
