9:30 PM: American Dad - Fox (also still on... inexplicably)
Umm..American Dad is awesome and I think most would agree that it is as good as or better then Family Guy most weeks. I don't know where that knock came from.
I really skeptical about So You Think... being on in the fall as well. The viewership is almost destined to drop, the winner this summer will only have the crown for a couple of months and it may suffer from casting so close to the season before it.
I don't mind Fringe being on Thursday. Every 9:00 timslot has some heavy competition going against it. I will be watc on the fox website the next day so it doesn't effect me anyways.
American is most definitely not awesome. It is time for Faux, I mean Fox to get some meat in some of those slots, IMO.
"I don't mind Fringe being on Thursday. Every 9:00 timslot has some heavy competition going against it. I will be watc on the fox website the next day so it doesn't effect me anyways."
The problem is, is that it could effect you when viewership drops because it's going to be shown in a very competitive time slot.
Yes, a lot of us use other means to watch broadcast TV, but for everyone of us that uses the web or DVR, there are probably ten who don't.
I realize that you will find a way to see your shows, but the sad truth is that most people don't have the knowledge, experience, or means to go those routes.
This is true, I know that in the grand scheme of things, it could be hurtful to the show, but it has to be looked at two ways. It is a hard timslot to be in, but a network like Fox is only looking to do decent ratings in a timeslot like that one. Bones wasn't wiping away the competition but it held it's own. That's all Fringe needs to do. I do feel sorry for those that have to drop Fringe because of the competitive timeslot. That is the problem these days in every time slot. Too many shows and not enough time.
I concur re: American Dad. Funny show. A lot of little moments, detail mixed in. Someone clearly goes through those scripts to squeeze as much humor in as possible. And the endings aren't always what's expected, which is refreshing.
As far as the line-up, it's a shame they're killing TERMINATOR. I've been catching up and I certainly would be up for watching more of the story.
Yay for HOUSE, BONES, and DOLLHOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ugh. I do NOT enjoy Seth McFarlane's humor, so I'd rather keep King of the Hill in place of a Family Guy spinoff.
Well, it's not worse than this year...although there's nothing that I'd watch. Wait; they cancelled Terminator, so I guess it is worse than this year.
Ugh. Are you freaking kidding me? Like I need ANOTHER show to juggle during the Thursday at 9pm time slot. I gave up on Grey's mainly because it started to suck but also because I didn't like it nearly as much as Supernatural and The Office. My DVR can only record 2 shows at a time, people! I guess I'll have to resort to recording either Fringe or The Office on time-shifting come September. Argh. Damn networks. While they're at it, why doesn't CBS shift Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother to Thursdays at 9? Then literally ALL of my must-see shows will be on at the exact same freaking time!
So, everything I watch is now on on Monday & Thursday. Awesome. Thank God I watch Supernatural on-line as it is. And I love SYTYCD, but I don't know about it going up against DWTS. That's dancing overload. SYTYCD is supposed to be on in the summer dang it!
I dont get why a lot of people are down on American Dad, that show is hilarious! It has definately been a savior after family guy has been not so funny. The show is weird and the humor is hard to understand sometimes cause it's dry, but damn the show is funny! What the hell is about moving Fringe to Thursdays? House and Fringe made a great Mon-tues lineup!
No Terminator...bye bye Fox until 24 starts again.
I'm actually pretty happy that Southland is coming back. I really like it even though I would like it better if it were on HBO or some other cable network.
Am I totally blind? Where is 30 Rock on this schedule, or is it starting in the winter?
American Dad is definitely better week to week than Family Guy or The Simpsons, by quite a large factor on some occasions.
I didn't like the first few episodes I saw but it is consistently funny, actually pretty well plotted, and I care about the intentionally jerkass characters.
Um WTF... Since when is 9.00 pm on a Friday night the best hour on TV all week?! Dollhouse, Ugly Betty, and Southland are three of the only shows I watch regularly, and Medium isn't terrible. And I assume Southland will be replaced by FNL in the winter also. Really, networks?
Why does Fox want to kill Fringe? I could have made a better schedule...It worked well on Tuesday nights...
Thank goodness for the "other" networks on satelite. There are so many time slots I see nothing that is fresh or interesting to watch. USA, TNT, & SciFi have some of the best new series to watch.
What?!!?!??! No Leno on Saturday or Sunday? What ever will I do?
30 Rock is going to be there before 2009 ends. NBC is trying a new show (it's called "Community" and I know zero specifics about it) in the post-OFFICE timeslot and will bring Liz Lemon & Co. back afterwards. It's not a terrible idea; something in that category would be the cancellation of MY NAME IS EARL.
My schedule would look like this, so far:
Monday: House, Lie to me, Castle
Tuesday: ?
Wednesday: Glee
Thursday: Bones/Flashforward on TivO until I know they don't cancel it, Grey's Anatomy, the Mentalist
Friday: whatever
Sunday: Three Rivers, Cold Case
And keeping fingers crossed that the NBC@10 expriment flops quickly so Chuck returns faster, along with 30Rock. Looking forward to V, too.

Oh, if "flashforward" confuses you: it's based on a great novel by Sawyer. :p
Well, I work graveyard shifts, so I wind up watching most TV on tape anyway, and setting a proper schedule is pretty much irrelevant. But at it stands now, it's a good thing I get CW and Global fron the west coast, and own three VCRs.
Right now, my taping schedule (not counting Canadian shows) looks like this:
Monday: House, Heroes, HIMYM, Lie to Me, Castle.
Tuesday: Shark Tank (I'm a fan of the Canadian version of Dragon's Den, and they've got a few of the more entertaining Canadian "dragons" on this one), and I'll give The Forgotten a chance.
Wednesday: SVU, and I'll try Eastwick and ABC's sitcoms.
Thursday: Bones, SNL (although I agree that I'd definitely prefer Earl or 30 Rock), Survivor, Parks & Rec, The Office, Fringe, CSI, The Mentalist (great idea moving it to Thursdays, BTW), and I'm intrigued by Flash Forward and Community ('cause I'm a huge fan of The Soup).
Friday: Dollhouse, Medium (I didn't even know NBC was dropping it. Good catch, CBS!)
Saturday: Dipping into my DVD backlog.
Sunday: Simpsons, TAR, Family Guy, and I'll give Cleveland a try (though I have a nagging feeling it'll be as unwatchable as American Dad).
Throw in the original SNL, and cable and Canadian shows, and that's a full week's worth of TV.
Whoops. Missed Law & Order on Friday, and forgot to include Smallville and Supernatural. (The latter is the only decent show on the CW unless they renew Reaper, and the former is one of those shows that I've suffered with so long that I'm almost obligated to see it through to the bitter, bitter end.)
When is Better Off Ted supposed to come back? Is it a mid-season replacement?
Ooh, another Dragon's Denish show? I have a crush on Brett that I can't explain. (Which is.. really weird, as I'm a lesbian.)
Whose idea was it to move Ugly Betty to Friday? Thanks, ABC. Assholes.
Weekend Update is only on for about a month, then 30 Rock will take over.
Wow, the CW's schedule looks so... organized, what with their little "theme nights."
No wonder the CW is bankrupt. They cancel a paying show-- Privileged-- and keep crap that's losing viewers--90210
I would absolutely watch Fringe instead of Grey's if the stupid ABC player was worth a crap. Unfortunately, I'll have to watch Fringe online instead.
Why don't the ABC and NBC links work? They all go to Fox.
How long will NBC go with Leno if viewers overdose on him after a couple weeks? He has to be eating up a lot of their budget.
