With Fox and the CW set to announce their fall line-ups next week, it's a bit of a slow news day, but there are a few interesting stories out there if you like dinosaurs, animation and misleading headlines. So, that's everybody, right?

The possibility of Scrubs returning for a ninth season is creeping closer to horrible, horrible reality, now that Zach Braff and Sarah Chalke have both signed on to appear in six episodes each, should it happen. And Donald Faison, John C. McGinley and Neil Flynn are also on board as regulars, but secondary to their new pilots, should they get picked up. Hooraaaaayyy?

Guess what's not coming back for another season? Life! Yes, I know, we already knew that, but thanks to this utterly misleading headline, I actually had a momentary spark of hope in my heart, which is now extinguished. Fox is not adding Life to its schedule, but rather Past Life, about an ex-cop and a psychologist solving crimes. Sounds... great, and unlike anything on television today.

In TV-to-movie news, the BBC TV show Primeval is going to be made into movie. If you've never seen it (the new season starts tomorrow on BBC America), it's basically "What if dinosaurs started coming through wormholes from the past and they were hunted by an elite team of paleontologists?" So it's basically gonna be Jurassic Park plus awesome. Hopefully. I mean, how can you screw up dinosaurs?

Comedy Central is going to create an animation block, including Ugly Americans, about a creature immigration office; The Foxxhole starring Jaime Foxx; Judah Friedlander as a cab driver in Gypsy Cab; and alien suburbanites in The Invadersteins. If it prevents the network from airing more Dane Cook specials, I'll tune in.

In a perfectly understandable bit of ratings news, Craig Ferguson's Late Late Show has beaten Late Night with Jimmy Fallon for the first time. Possibly because Ferguson could talk about anything and be entertaining, while Fallon is still rough around the edges. Meanwhile, they continue to renew Last Call with Carson Daly, despite me falling asleep just thinking about him.
