Casting news abounds today, from BAG replacements to new ghost-busters to heavyweight hostesses. Also, an Idol gets a record deal, and it's not Gokey. Hooray!!!
Too late for regrets, Brian Austin Green. The role on One Tree Hill that you turned down when we all told you that it was beneath you? Well, it went to someone beneath you -- Robert Buckley, a.k.a. the underwear model from Lipstick Jungle, has snagged the role.
We all knew it would happen eventually, but now that Adam Glambert and Kris Allen have landed their record deals, it's okay for Allison Iraheta to reveal that she's closed a deal, as well. Gasp! They skipped Gokey! Scandal!
So, when David Letterman made that joke about Sarah Palin's daughter getting knocked up by a New York Yankee? And everyone assumed it was about the 14-year-old daughter who attended the ballgame, and not the 18-year old unwed mother? Yeah, Dave was talking about the older girl. He kind of apologized on his show last night for the confusion, and invited Palin on the show. Anything to help you beat Conan, eh, Dave?
The new live-action pilot being developed for Comedy Central, following a pair of slacker paranormal investigators and currently (uncreatively) titled Ghosts/Aliens, has been cast. Jonathan Sadowski (Terminator: TSCC) and Keir O'Donnell (Sons of Anarchy) will play the two stoner friends, frequent TV guest-star Rebecca Wisocky will play Sadowski's mom and The War at Home's Kaylee DeFer will play a member of their team. The weird part? The show is also being developed as a movie. So if the series gets picked up, the cast of the show will also be in the movie. It's a twofer!
Apparently, Bret Michaels is pissed at the Tonys for failing to show even an ounce of compassion after he was almost crushed by a backdrop. After they said in their public statement that he simply "missed his mark," Michaels pointed out that if it had been Dolly Parton, they would have maybe been a little more concerned. Considering that Dolly Parton is 50% silicone rubber, I doubt she or the backdrop would have been damaged.
The host of the overweight dating show More to Love has been revealed as Emme, a plus-sized cosmetics model. This is seen as an attempt to show that the show is not about making fun of fat people, but it's not gonna stop us from making fun of the premise.

Oh, I love Jonathan Sadowski! He was so great as the government nerd Chuck could become on Chuck. And didn't he die almost immediately on Terminator: TSCC? It's funny that that's how you'd choose to list him.
