Today's TWoP News: June 4, 2009

Today's TWoP News: June 4, 2009 Some sad news today for Kung Fu fans, but some great news for Hell's Kitchen fans and pervs, so it's not all bad.

Zach's working on a proper tribute for the Moviefile, but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention it here as well. Kung Fu legend and Kill Bill star (among many other awesome things, like my favorite Lizzie McGuire episode ever, for example) David Carradine passed away yesterday in Bangkok, at the age of 72. A lot of conflicting crap is swirling, but a concrete cause of death has yet to be released.

Switching gears now, this is just a fun one. Apparently NBC's head of reality programming feels the same way about Speidi that everybody else does, even going so far as to say they represent everything that's wrong with America. I hate Speidi as much as anybody (while simultaneously loving them, of course), but hey! Don't drag the rest of us down with them!

T-Bag from Prison Break (Robert Knepper is his real, less something-a- 12-year-old-boy-would-nickname-someone name) has been cast as Heroes' new villain for its upcoming volume. He'll play a "Jim Jones type" who will be messing with all of the Heroes' lives. That's great, but would you like to know about something more interesting than Heroes? I was looking up which specific cult leader Jim Jones was (I get them all confused, for some reason), and Wikipedia told me that the Jonestown members actually killed themselves with cyanide-laced Flavor Aid, not Kool-Aid, as is often mis-referenced. True story. Now, good luck getting "We Fly High" out of your head for the rest of the week.

Check it out -- somebody named The Internet slapped some sense into Brian Austin Green, who may be backing out of that ridiculously ill-advised (but admittedly very well-paying) One Tree Hill job. Just eat some Ramen for a while and hold out for something better, BAG. We've all had to do it.

Speaking of Sarah Connor people resorting to sad things, Ex-Terminator showrunner Josh Friedman updated his personal blog with some reflections on how crappy an experience being canceled is. He also talks a lot of shit about Chuck Lorre in it and then is pretty much just like, "Just kidding!" which is the best defense alive. It's probably the funniest thing I've read all week.

And aak! A Gordon Ramsay porn parody announced! (The best part about that story is actually that they note that it's direct-to-DVD, like there was an option to run it in theaters.)
