A movie star jumps to TV, a TV star jumps to a different show, a former child star jumps ship and ski jumps get their own network. It's today's TWoP news! ...After the jump, of course.
Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) has signed a deal with Comedy Central to do ten episodes of a sitcom about an unemployed IT guy who moves back in with his parents. ...Wait, is this autobiographical? Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, the team behind Eastbound and Down, are producing, and suddenly I'm very interested.
31 million people watched the Michael Jackson memorial, which is pretty impressive, but less impressive than Princess Diana's funeral (33 million) and President Reagan's funeral (35 million). Guess a real princess trumps a honorary "King."
Fans of Oz and The Unusuals, take note: actor Terry Kinney will be joining the cast of The Mentalist as a by-the-books agent heading up the Red John investigation. Also, he was Lisbon's mentor. Also, they totally did it.
Think about how long the Olympics are. Now imagine that there's a channel dedicated to showing only them, year-round, including the athlete trials to make the team. Now, does that idea make you want to stab yourself in the eyes? No? Then you might want to watch the Olympic Network when it starts up next year.
Oprah is getting the Brady Bunch cast back together, but Maureen McCormick says Eve Plumb won't show up. She's apparently pissed at McCormick for once saying they had a lesbian affair, but McCormick says it was just a joke. Suuuuure it was.
After a long delay, the cast of Project Runway Season 6 has been revealed, and the show's hosts have to really think long and hard for things to say about them, since it ended so long ago, and the final runway show was in February. Are they going to have to edit out all of the dated references?

I don't think it's a coincidence that my mom is retiring and will need something to fill her time just as they're starting an Olympic Network.
I gotta say, I bet there were millions more watching the MJ memorial online. I'd like to see those numbers!
Olympic network YAY! I love the Olympics SO MUCH when they are on and the entire time I'm thinking "these people TOTALLY EXIST the rest of the 3 years and 50 weeks and I really just have no clue what they do with all that time" well, now I will know! so. happy.
