Paula still doesn't have a job, some DWTS celebs are revealed, a reality show contestant allegedly gets kicked off, Jay Leno is back, and yet another comic is turning to television. It's a Monday.
I'm not the most devoted fan of Dancing With the Stars, but even I know when something is terribly, terribly wrong. I'm talking about the miscast that is the new celebrities for season 9. With the exception of Melissa Joan Hart, Kelly Osbourne, and Aaron Carter (whose career never successfully launched), we have a random motley of unknown stars... and um, Tom DeLay.
It took Paula Abdul leaving and about, what, seven years for the execs over at American Idol to actually bring someone with real talent to the judge panel --someone who has made it in the music industry. Mary J. Blige will be a guest judge on Idol and will be joining the panel in Atlanta for auditions.
Big Brother [Spoiler Alert]: If you remember last week's episode and the surprising turn of events where Jessie got evicted, then you know that there was lots of anger from Chima Simone, Natalie and Lydia's end. Chima's tantrum and her antics violated the BB house rules, resulting in her abrupt departure from the show. And while the CBS execs say she got kicked off, Chima claims she left at her own will.
For all who miss Jay Leno, it won't be long for his talk show The Jay Leno Show premieres (Sept. 14), and depending on whether you're a fan of Seinfeld, get excited because Jerry Seinfeld will be Leno's first guest. Also, there's a regular segment where we get to see celebs goof off and race around a track on an electric car. Lucky us.
Yet another comic book series is becoming a TV series. NBC will produce a "live-action drama adaptation" of "Midnight, Mass," which focuses on a sophisticated, sexy couple who solves mysteries and crime. They sound like the ultimate power couple.
There's more Paula news. Again. It turns out she won't be guest starring in Ugly Betty and it looks as though she's not working with ABC at all. Bummer. Someone please get her a job so I won't have to keep writing about her.
