Kara DioGuardi recorded her own studio version of the terrible Idol winner song that put Kris Allen's vocal cords through a wood chipper, and now people seem to be of the opinion that her version is somehow listenable, and that the song has been harshly misjudged. But I just listened to it, so let me save you some time: it is not, and it was not.

The Today Show has added former First Daughter Jenna Bush Hager as an education correspondent, which is random and weird, but I don't have anything really mean to say about it, surprisingly. I don't think anyone is watching The Today Show for hard-hitting exposés of the education system, so I'll just file this away as as inconsequential as Kathie Lee's nicknames for Hoda.

For whatever reason (either they don't have their shit together, or NBC sent out a really random press release over the weekend), The Hollywood Reporter seems to think Kate Mulgrew joining Mercy is new news, even though screeners with her in them went out literally months ago. I'm only bringing it up because, although Mercy is terrible (and really, it is. You're not going to believe it), Mulgrew's alcoholic white trash mom character is genuinely hilarious, and by far the only good thing about it.

Victory! Kind of! Thomas Dekker says there's been talk of a direct-to-DVD Sarah Connor Chronicles movie, and not just in the Brilliant But Cancelled comment thread. Seriously doubt it'll happen, but it's nice to dream big, John Connor.
