Today's TWoP News: Wednesday, September 30, 2009 The good news is Matt LeBlanc is now gainfully employed. The bad news is Lauren Conrad just became a film mogul.

Jon Gosselin: Still Awful

by Mindy Monez September 30, 2009 2:40 PM
Jon Gosselin: Still Awful Holy hell, I take one lousy sick day and I come back to find that while I was out Jon Gosselin tried to stay married to Kate because TLC shitcanned him? Yikes. Put me back in bed, doctor! I can't take these people. In case you missed it, the Gosselin existence has spiraled further into shambles. Come November 2, Jon & Kate Plus 8 will change its name to Kate Plus 8, and will focus on Kate's single-momness and celebrity, with Jon appearing as a mere guest star in between weird, gross Michael Lohan pool parties and Ed Hardy wine tastings.

Today's TWoP News: Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Good news, everyone! A show has been canceled and un-canceled, another has been re-titled, another remade, and a book adapted! That last one might not be such good news, but we remain ever optimistic! O frabjous day! Callooh callay!

TV on DVD: Tuesday, September 29, 2009

More TV this week, including a couple of awesome British shows, a few truly good cartoons, one show that's only on the Internet, and a few shows we still can't believe they put on television at all. Were they actually taking crazy pills?

A Day Without a D'Onofrio: We Re-Cast Law & Order: Criminal Intent

The unthinkable has happened. After eight seasons, Law & Order: Criminal Intent will be without lead detective Robert Goren for the first time, as Vincent D'Onofrio will be leaving the show to do more film work. And he's not alone, either -- Kathryn Erbe (Det. Eames), Julianne Nicholson (Det. Wheeler) and Eric Bogosian (Capt. Ross) are all leaving the show, as well. Who does that leave? Pretty much just new hire Jeff Goldblum, who just finished his first season as Det. Nichols. While it can't feel good to have all of your fellow cast members quit on you, we're glad Goldblum is sticking around, because now he can be the lead detective in a show cast entirely by us! Well, almost -- they've already replaced Nicholson with Saffron Burrows, formerly of My Own Worst Enemy. But here's who we think should fill the rest of the vacant spots.

Trauma: If You Like Explosions, This Is the Show For You

This is not the worst show that NBC is debuting this fall (that honor goes to Mercy), and it isn't the best (that's Community) so instead it falls smack in the middle. It's not terrible, but it is more focused on explosions than anything, but if you are looking for an ER substitute, this one is probably a better bet than Mercy or CBS's Three Rivers.

Today's TWoP News: Monday, September 28, 2009 Jenny Slate's going to be alright, Dollhouse may be in trouble again, and Conan bumped his head. Happy Monday!

The SNL Premiere, or 'The New Lady Swore! The New Lady Swore!' So Jenny Slate said the F-word in her first episode, during a sketch about biker chicks who say "Frickin'" constantly. OK! I can see how that would happen. And the sketch aired at about the 12:40 AM mark of the episode, so I'm pretty sure no truly innocent children were too corrupted by it. NBC will probably be fined, because those are the rules, but clearly, the poor girl won't be fired. Her gaffe alone entered a lackluster premiere heavily into today's news cycle, and besides, I've seen her perform, and she has a lot to offer. I think she'll be alright.

Brothers: Are You Ready for Some Football Acting?

On paper, Brothers looks like a textbook example of a cheesy, formulaic sitcom: Take a celebrity famous for something besides acting (Reba McEntire, Bob Uecker, the Jonas Bros.), put them in a situation where they basically play themselves, and "comedy" will ensue. Former NY Giant Michael Strahan fills that role in Brothers, playing an ex-NFLer who moves back home after losing all of his millions in a bad investment, and while he is certainly no actor, he doesn't really need to be, because he's surrounded by pretty talented -- and funny -- people.

What Cameron's Firing Means for House

What Cameron's Firing Means for House Yesterday, EW broke the shocking news that the House bosses have decided to let Jennifer Morrison go for creative reasons, and that her final episode (with the possibility of future guest spots, like that's a big consolation) will air this November. It's apparently a done deal, her goodbye's already been shot, and she did not quit -- she was written out because their future plans for the show do not include Cameron. That, for lack of a better word, blows. Here are some of the many reason why.
