Holy hell, I take one lousy sick day and I come back to find that while I was out Jon Gosselin tried to stay married to Kate because TLC shitcanned him? Yikes. Put me back in bed, doctor! I can't take these people. In case you missed it, the Gosselin existence has spiraled further into shambles. Come November 2, Jon & Kate Plus 8 will change its name to Kate Plus 8, and will focus on Kate's single-momness and celebrity, with Jon appearing as a mere guest star in between weird, gross Michael Lohan pool parties and Ed Hardy wine tastings.
Apparently, Jon didn't care for being essentially fired (though he's firmly denying that he was fired, but c'mon -- he was), so he filed papers to slow the divorce proceedings and reportedly claims he wants to save his marriage now that he has no steady paycheck without it. Which is scummy, but I can't say I don't see the logic working there.
Anyway, the question isn't whether or not the show should continue -- of course it shouldn't, but it's going to, at least in the short-term, and those kids are irreversibly ruined at this point anyway. And besides, Mady of Love is going to be a good show in ten years. We can't jeopardize that. Nor is the question whether or not Jon and Kate should reconcile for the sake of Jon's finances -- of course they shouldn't. The question is why are we still talking about these people? The show's ratings have tanked, and though their tabloid antics are continuous, they've outlived their scandalous novelty. The kids are still hilarious and adorable on the show, which I still watch, but outside of the broadcasts I'm done thinking about these idiots. For at least until the end of the week, by which time they'll probably be married again for the sake of publicity or something, and I'll get my rage and interest back. It's a vicious circle with these Gosselins, but I have to admit that they're good at what they do (being awful).

I am confused though. Live in DC and last week went to lunch at Restaurant Nora. They were temporarily closed to allow for a film crew to work inside. People outside the place were saying that Kate Gosselin was inside being interviewed. No one could confirm if the kids were in there or not and you can not really see into that place from the street that well but I can say it looked like quite a few people moving around and a lot of bright lights.
I thought that the filming had stopped or is it that the kids just can not be filmed but the adults can. Restaurant Nora is an all organic place so I was thinking that is why the Mom was in there since she eats organic food all the time and they were taping her eat lunch or something.
I was just shocked they are still taping episodes of the show. I wonder if they are doing this covertly in anticipation of the Kate plus 8 show being allowed to continue. However, I did not see any TV type trucks with the TLC logo so I am not even sure if that was the case. There was a media type van on one of the nearby side streets with a logo of True Entertainment Media. Who knows if she really was there maybe it was something else??
