BLOGS
That's right, it's the good stuff. Plenty of quality series coming out this week, starting with one of our most anticipated series for this fall. No, not Mr. Belvedere, although a remake of that show would not be a bad idea.
Fringe: The Complete First Season
The season started off slow, but it quickly became a worthy successor of The X-Files, and it arguably had the most intriguing season finale of any show on television. The DVD contains deleted scenes, commentaries by J.J. Abrams, Kurtzman and Orci, and a featurette on the real science of the show, as well as a montage of Gene the Cow. If you haven't given this show a shot, you are, to paraphrase Nimoy, an a-hole.
Important Things with Demetri Martin
If you find Demetri Martin even remotely funny, you owe it to yourself to check out this show, which is a mix of his stand-up comedy (with and without his trademark large drawing pad), sketch comedy, music and animation, and focuses on a different topic each episode, including power, timing, safety and chairs. Think about it.
Harper's Island: The DVD Edition
While I enjoyed the hell out of this series, I'd be curious to try to watch all 13 episodes in one sitting. It'd be like the longest Friday the 13th ever. Melrose Place fans, here's what Katie Cassidy was doing before she joined the show.
The Office: Season 5
Okay, so the season had some weak episodes ("Prince Family Paper," "Stress Relief," "Frame Toby"), but the Amy Ryan episodes at the beginning of the season are great, as are the Idris Elba episodes at the end. Not that guest stars should ever be used to fix a show, but in this case, they certainly helped by introducing new dynamics to play with.
Parks & Recreation: Season 1
Not the greatest six episodes of a show ever made, but you know you'll regret not picking them up once the show gets good.
Also out this week:
Criminal Minds: The Complete Fourth Season I never thought I'd say this, but I miss Mandy Patinkin.
The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency The best title of the season, if nothing else.
Worst Week: The Complete Series More like "Worst Show: The Complete Worstness," am I right?
Mr. Belvedere: Season 3 We need more butler shows on TV.
Dog the Bounty Hunter: To Seize and Protect Also known by the alias "Season 5." Use caution in apprehending.

"...became a worthy successor of The X-Files."
/facepalm
office is terrible, so is parks, when is silver spoons season 2 and sabrina the teenage witch season 6 and 7 coming?
Watts, you got some terrible taste, pal... never change.
in my defense, sabrina 6/7 complete the set, only season 1-4 are good, and you cant beat the silver spoons theme song......and when are the rest of 'simon and simon' coming out? i miss pi shows, csi/cold case/without a trace/ncis are terrible, give me rockford files or simon and simon any day of the week
The1337, I feel you. That's like blasphemy. I can't believe TWOP likes Fringe
TWOP drinks J.J. Abrams kool-aid. It's pretty pathetic.
No Fringe is good, you dare question the taste of Leonard Nimoy? If he made an appearance (or two, if I can judge the future), you KNOW it is worthy. Beats a lot of the crap already on the air (Gossip Girls, 21/2 Men, etc.)
