Good news today, as good television is coming back sooner and lasting longer. On the down side, Rick Springfield is going to show us his ass.
In what is fantastic news for... well, pretty much everyone, NBC may move up the launch of Chuck to as soon as, oh, two weeks from now. That's right -- late October. To promote the new season, I suggest a hastily recorded Huey Lewis and the News parody, "I Want a New Chuck."
ABC is on a spending spree, adding FlashForward to the list of shows it has given full-season orders to, joining Cougar Town, Modern Family and The Middle. ...Can FlashForward have The Middle's episodes?
Apparently, when you're in the middle of a recession, not everyone wants to be a millionaire. They're happy just being ten-thousandaires, or hundred-thousandaires.
Not only does Rick Springfield wish he had Jessie's girl, he wishes he had David Duchovny's career. The 60-year-old singer and, apparently, actor will guest-star on four episodes of Californication as a twisted version of himself, meaning he'll appear naked, carrying a naked girl around, and be a washed-up movie star looking to rebuild his career. Yes, I'm sure that's totally twisted from the truth.
And here you can see Nip/Tuck if it was a comedy. Wait, it's not a comedy?

Yaaaaay! Yaaaaay!
(and let me clarify that my cheers are for Chuck, not Rick Springfield)
I'm so excited! Chuck cannot return to us too soon!
Why so down on Rick Springfield? I think it's great when a celeb can make fun of themselves and their whole celeb personna. I can't wait to see how he will do on Californication.
I'm more excited about the fact this might bring more viewers and thus more episodes!! Fingers crossed for more Jeffster!
Don't knock it till you see his ass. The man looks damn fine for 60. Hell, he looks damn fine for any age!
Glad to see you did some homework and actually know that Rick sang that song. You obviously know nothing else about him or his career.
An early Chuck return may not be the best thing for the show. My my blog post about the issue.

CHUCK!!!
Down side? Are you kidding me? Seeing Rick Springfield's naked butt is one of the many reasons I'm shelling out the $ for Showtime and watching Californication...and I'm not a huge TV watcher!
