BLOGS
It's too bad The Prisoner and The Fugitive never crossed over. Or The Guardian and The Mentalist, for that matter. They could have all worked in The Office! It sounds like a Tales from the Darkside episode waiting to happen. Coincidentally, many of those series came out on DVD this week.
Battlestar Galactica: The Plan
"So here's the plan -- we remake the 1970's TV series Battlestar Galactica, and we make it really good. Also, Starbuck is a hot chick, and the Cylons are all hot chicks too, because the original was such a sausage fest. Then, after a few years of giving them everything they could possibly want -- humans and Cylons screwing, men and women punching each other and then screwing, people getting sucked out of airlocks (no screwing) -- we give them a finale that everyone hates, because nothing can possibly live up to their expectations. Now, here's where the plan gets good. Months later, we put out a DVD with one more 112-minute episode, set before the finale. Everyone will buy that DVD."
Monty Python: Almost the Truth (The Lawyer's Cut)
You watched it on IFC last week, now watch it again! It's the massive new Monty Python documentary, with six hour-long chapters dedicated to their comedy backgrounds, the Flying Circus television show, their movies and the group's internal struggles, particularly Graham Chapman's death. Not the funniest way to look at the Pythons, but a fascinating behind-the-scenes that's still good for a chuckle every now and then.
The Prisoner: The Complete Series Megaset
Only 19 days left until AMC's new mini-series adaptation of this classic mindbender -- still plenty of time to watch all 17 episodes. The role of Number 6, originally played by Patrick McGoohan, will be played in the mini-series by Jesus, while the villainous Number 2, originally a rotating position, will be played by Magneto.
Nick Swardson: Seriously, Who Farted?
The latest stand-up performance from the comedian who stole Blades of Glory, Grandma's Boy and certain episodes of Reno 911 actually came out last week (we forgot!), but there may still be copies available. Ask nicely.
The Fugitive: Season 3 Vol. 1
Run to your local DVD dealer, chase down a sales associate and ask them where you can capture a copy of this runaway 1963 hit series. Great escapist fare.
The Guardian: The First Season
Before he was the Mentalist, Simon Baker was... the Guardian! And before that, he was... the waiter! Not a role, just a job.
Tales from the Darkside: The Second Season
Because when you own Tales from the Darkside: The First Season, there's nowhere to go but deeper into the abyss.

I thought the BSG finale was genius.
Ditto. BSG finale was amazing.
