TWoP 10: Most Truly Scary People on TV This Year

We had fun last Halloween spotlighting the scariest people on TV, but it's a whole new season, and there's a whole new crop of people who send chills up our spine. So in our new annual tradition, we've found the scariest people on television this fall. Be afraid, be very afraid.

10. Russell (Survivor)
Not the one who almost died; the other one. The one that looks like a bulldog. He's not quite the evil mastermind the show made him out to be at the beginning of the season. However, he's more than a little intimidating and probably not the kind of guy you'd really want to spend much time around. When he talks about not crossing him and whatnot, he looks genuinely mean.

9. Irina (Project Runway)
Yes, you've got to call it like it is sometimes, and there's no doubting that Irina is totally talented, but don't you get the impression that she'd smother one of the contestants in their sleep if she thought they had a better chance of winning than she did? Also, she feels the need to make the bitchiest comments about everyone. How about just finding one person to sound off on and leaving it at that?

8. Damon (The Vampire Diaries)
He's a callous killer who is out for blood and doesn't care about the consequences. We like that in a guy. In fact, Ian Somerhalder got pegged as one of our MVP's for bringing this bad boy to life. Plus, he earns extra credit for not just killing innocent folks, but also emotionally manipulating everyone around him.

7. Terri (Glee)
It's not just because we don't like her (though there's that), but there's something kind of terrifying about the way that she can quickly come up with an excuse for everything. A pathological liar is someone you don't want to reckon with. Not to mention the fact that she's dangerous to kids, what with all the pill-pushing, trying to steal babies and god knows what else she's got in store for the future. We'd much rather be around Sue -- at least she's scary to your face.

6. Trinity (Dexter)
He cuts up girls in bathtubs, forces people's mothers to jump out of buildings, bludgeons kindly baristas, (probably) shoots cops and federal agents -- and we just found out he's a devoted and loving family man as well. Dude, all the murdering is plenty terrifying; there's no need to have a horrifically disparate double life as well.

5. Echo (Dollhouse)
We mostly like Dollhouse this season, and yet, we still wouldn't want to be alone in a room with Echo. She's unstable and not the vacant, easily manipulated doll she used to be. She's become very secretive about her knowledge, has the personalities of every imprint roaming around in her head and can become a serial killer at a moment's notice. Maybe she should spend some more quiet time in her little pod and less time with clients.

4. Violet (Private Practice)
While serial killers are terrifying and all, there's something really frightening about a therapist who is so unstable and immature that she gives bad advice on a regular basis. Your therapist is supposed to be someone you can trust and confide in -- not a basket case who tells you to go out and get an abortion because she hates her own child. Until she resolves her issues, she's truly unfit to be working, but yet, no one really seems to care enough to stop her.

3. Mary Murphy (So You Think You Can Dance)
It's not so much Mary herself that we're scared of... well, maybe a little. She is slowly becoming a shell of herself with the overly Botoxed forehead and hair weave, but that's just Hollywood. No, it's the scream that really freaks us out. That noise could be put on loop at your Halloween party and neighborhood kids would run away in terror. Seriously, try it if you don't feel like giving out candy.

2. The League (Sons of Anarchy)
The League is a group of white supremacist gang-rapists with seemingly unlimited funds and influence, and they're on the verge of completely decimating the livelihood of SAMCRO, the only true law in Charming, CA. So, yeah, we'd say they're a tad frightening. (Note: this League shouldn't be confused with The League, also on FX, which is just scary filthy hilarious.)

1. Jillian Michaels (The Biggest Loser)
It is arguably her job to be terrifying, but she's really, really good at her job. When she starts screaming at people, we almost want to get to the nearest elliptical and run, too, just so she doesn't come after us. And while we appreciate that she wants to help these people overcome their emotional need to overeat, her methods involve truly insane amounts of yelling. Those last-chance workouts give us nightmares.

Honorable Mention: Tyra Banks (America's Next Top Model)
We felt it was just a bit cruel, even by our standards, to put Tyra on our official list two years in a row, but really, the smizing and the superhero costumes? It's pretty scary stuff.

Who else on TV gives you the heebie jeebies? Sound off below.
