With Dollhouse's doors closing, and Joss presumably heading back to the drawing board, what will happen to all those actors who will be out of a job? After all, some of them already get too-little work on non-Whedon projects as it is. To get them started, before they hit the unemployment line, we've found some doors they should start knocking on.
Eliza Dushku
We loved her as Faith, but the girl really can't carry an entire series with her "acting" abilities. It took us a while to find her a new home, but after seeing the wooden performances on the second episode of V, we knew she'd fit in perfectly there. Give the girl a nice tight jumpsuit and some stilted dialogue and she'll be the perfect lizard person.
Tahmoh Penikett
Maybe it's just our love of watching nerdy worlds collide, but we'd be thrilled if this former BSG star found his way on to Chuck, preferably as a rival for Casey. We'd love to see Adam Baldwin and Tahmoh duke it out, or be best friends... either way.
Dichen Lachman
She was on the long-running Australian drama Neighbours playing a nurse so she's used to soapy fare, which makes her a perfect fit for Grey's Anatomy. New blood has helped the show this season, so a little bit more couldn't hurt, right?
Miracle Laurie
Maybe it's just because she sort of reminds us a bit of Ginnifer Goodwin, but wouldn't Miracle just be perfect as a new wife on Big Love?
Olivia Williams
This import should return to her native UK because we'd love to see her on Torchwood. Her bossy performance on this show has convinced us that she'd be the perfect person to come in and help pick up the pieces of what (very little) remains of the Cardiff branch.
Harry Lennix
He's already done 24, but we'd hope to see this actor stick with the action genre, and maybe even stay in the Fox family with a role on Fringe. There's got to be another secretive branch of the FBI that he can work for.
Enver Gjokaj
If we say nothing else about Dollhouse in the future, we're at least glad that it brought Enver to our attention. He's fabulous and pretty dreamy. Don't those Salvatore brothers on The Vampire Diaries have a cousin or something he could play? We'd be so down with that.
Amy Acker
Well, if her new show Happy Town doesn't take off, we'd like to see her on The Big Bang Theory as a nice bookish girl nerd -- just like our beloved Fred before she turned all scary Illyria on us.
Fran Kranz
We're not especially fond of his annoying Topher character, but perhaps he could go on one of those crime-scene investigating shows, where he can work in the lab and use the science-speak he learned from Dollhouse. Since CSI: Antarctica isn't available, perhaps CSI:NY, since we rarely tune into that one and could then happily forget that he exists.

Agree with most of these, but I really liked Dichen Lachman and would prefer to see her on something I could actually stand to watch.
Most of these suggestions are pretty reasonable. Enver Gjokaj is definitely the break-out actor of the bunch, at least for me. I already thought Olivia Williams was awesome. And as for Dichen Lachman, I love her on Dollhouse, but having seen a few of her episodes of Neighbours, I'm not entirely sure she really can act. But she, like pretty much everyone on this list, is soooooo nice to look at!
I love Topher, let's see Fran on Dexter as Deb's new love interest but with a secret nerd crush on Dexter....
I would love to see Enver on TVD but on second thought, maybe not such a good idea. Damon has already killed two relatives (Zach Salvatore and his grandfather Joseph). It seems Stefan is the only family member he can stand (and only barely!)
Dichen is awesome. Neighbours seems to specialise in making half-decent actors appear to not be able to act, so don't hold that against her.
Tamoh needs drama though, I reckon. Something like Dexter. And Enver I'd put on Mad Men as a new ad executive - like a younger Don Draper.
I'm much rather see Summer Glau find a consistent gig than the rest of these actors, although Amy Acker, Harry Lenix, and Dichen Lachman are all pretty talented and I would like to see them somewhere.
The Tahmoh and Olivia suggestions are perfect! Personally I have to admit I'm more interested in seeing what Joss does next than the actors though.
Oh I totally disagree with your assessment of Fran Kranz. He was fantastic on that show. I could see him in a new show, but couldn't really see him joining anything that's going on right now.
I also loved Dushku's performances, but I do agree that she'd be great on V.
Tahmoh with Adam Baldwin would be epic.
Man, whoever suggested Mad Men for Enver....you are my new God. That is such a perfect fit. And seriously, Fran Kranz deserves better than some procedural like CSI. Ugh. Just because you didn't like his character, doesn't mean the actor deserves a dull as career.
Personally, I think Harry Lennix and Tahmoh Penikett need to work that awesome buddy-cop vibe they have going and be paired as law-enforcement professionals, with Olivia Williams as their boss again (because why mess with gold?) and Dichen and Enver as other cast (Maybe Dichen as the ME?) and then add in Miracle Laurie as a crusading lawyer, and cameos by Alan Tudyk, Amy Acker, and Reed Diamond. And Aisha Hinds as the boss if Olivia's booked.
reply to silver1881: you took my response... apparently we both have great minds...
Rebelliousrose has nailed it! Extra points for including Loomis.
>>We're not especially fond of his annoying Topher character
I thought the majority loved the Topher character? I do.
Enver deserves a show where his amazing acting talent will be appreciated, which is to say nowhere on the CW. Mad Men or another cable show with critical acclaim and the attention of awards-voters would be fabulous.
Once again, close-minded and needlessly critical. It's a sad day when this passes for journalism.
Everyone can agree that Enver was the standout of the programme and, therefore, deserves more than the dreck of a CW show. 'Mad Men' sounds like a surprisingly good fit, 'Breaking Bad' even but I think he'd nail a recurring [or regular] role on 'Burn Notice'.
Fran Kranz rocks - he could do 'Chuck', no sweat. Although you could argue he's more suited to a character based procedural like 'Bones'.
Pelmen:
You do realize what website this is, yes? And its history? It's all about being critical and tossing opinion. And while you are certainly entitled to the one you just placed, it seems to be a bit under-informed.
As for the suggestions here, just so long and Penikett and Lennix continue to receive jobs, it's all good.
Dushku's acting was nothing less than fine, blame the appalling scripts from the hacks at Mutant Enemy, not her. I cringed when she took this role, knowing full well the show would flop, not down to her or the network, but Whedon's sloppy writing.
Oh and did you forget about poe-faced Glau and her fear of cameras?
Oh and criticising Eliza while not saying anything about Penikett and his clenching jaw style of acting?
Please.
Enver is amazing on that show! He really is the only one that I 100% have believed in every personality they gave him. He should be in movies, he's so gorgeous and talented TV isn't big enough for him
Personally, I thought that Eliza was just fine. A lot of her personalities were very similar just by their nature - the few that were distinct (the Whiskey imprint, the negotiator, and the blind girl all come to mind) were played well, IMO. Of course, we were also constantly comparing her to the incredibly excellent Enver, so...
Olivia Williams back in the UK on Torchwood, Tahmoh on Chuck and Amy Acker on BBT? My poor little heart couldn't take on the awesomeness of those suggestions.
I would also like to chime in on the Topher love! His scenes with Amy in the beginning of the second season were some of my favorites of the series.
I place the blame right where it has belonged the entire time. Right on Joss Whedon's muddled head. He deserves every bit or scorn the non-TWOP public at large heaps on him.
God, I hate the character Topher. Can't judge the actor's acting skills, because I may be biased from his association with the awful combination of annoying and more incredibly annoying Topher.
"I place the blame right where it has belonged the entire time. Right on Joss Whedon's muddled head. He deserves every bit or scorn the non-TWOP public at large heaps on him."
100% right. He has a great imagination but lacks the discipline to actually think his ideas through. As a consequence, his shows have holes you can drive Greyhound buses through. And that's without mentioning the continuity FUBARs and frequently poorly thought-out motivations.
He's the very definition of sloppy.
Enver can carry his own show. He needs to check out the opportunity for character driven action/comedy/drama that USA is offering. I can totally see him headlining a Burn Notice or White Collar type of thing.
Everyone should move right on over to Dollhouse: the Movie.
