BLOGS
It's Friday the 13th, and things are amiss in television land. The TV gods are toiling with things that should be left alone, and John Harvard is rolling over in his nearly 400-year-old grave.
ABC is really close to ordering a pilot of a "modern version" of Charlie's Angels. Do we really need this? Did these people not see the two contemporary movies that did the same exact thing? Drew Barrymore is executive producing, so it could go very well or very badly. However, I think Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle is evidence enough that leaving it alone is best. Stay away, McG.
Minnie Driver will guest star as a former co-worker of Claire's on Modern Family. Driver formerly proved her comedic chops as Karen's arch enemy on Will and Grace, so this should be fun.
Hayden Panettiere will produce a drama for The CW about students at Harvard Medical School called HMS. Of course this show will end up being more about who's dating whom, and what student made out with what cadaver. Wait, what? The point is that the audience of this show will be more interested in the sex and not in the steps that need to be taken to become a podiatrist. Med school is like, totally hard, you guys.
Lou Dobbs left CNN quite abruptly (good riddance) and will be replaced by John King. If you're like me, you're probably thinking, "Who the H is John King?" He's the guy with the distinguished grey that gets to play with the fancy multi-touch maps and charts at election time. Look for King and his maps in the 7 PM eastern timeslot.
