BLOGS
Stars on TV is the name of the game, as one movie star is going to Fox, two are going to ABC, and one (along with two infamous housewives) is coming to NBC. Michelle Obama, meanwhile, is going on Iron Chef. Keep her safe, Mark Dacascos. Keep her safe.
Michelle Trachtenberg, a prostitution whore? That may be among the epithets slung at her when her Mercy character goes to a New Jersey bar frequented by Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa Giudice and Jacqueline Laurita. Hope she has her Iraq War-vet buddy to back her up and flip some tables.
Meanwhile, James Franco, he of General Hospital fame (oh, and the blockbuster movies he's been in), will appear as himself on 30 Rock, playing a love interest for Jenna. Yay, Jenna! Now she won't have to keep hurting people trying to find the sexy paramedic!
Colin Hanks has joined the cast of Fox's Jack & Dan, the buddy-cop show co-starring Bradley Whitford. Hanks is the by-the-book one who's at a dead end, professionally, and Whitford is the drunk who only has a job because he was a hero once. Described as an action comedy like Burn Notice, we expect this to be our new favorite show.
Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin have been chosen to co-host the Oscars on ABC. The Academy Awards ceremony will air in March, three months after they co-star in It's Complicated. They were the Academy's third choice, behind Tina Fey (who was too busy) and Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr. (who actually have a chance of winning awards).
Michelle Obama has done Sesame Street, so where next? Iron Chef America. The First Lady will unveil the secret ingredient -- anything that grows in the White House garden -- when the executive chef at the White House teams up with Bobby Flay to defeat the evil axis of Mario Batali and Emeril Lagasse. Expect a lot of rose-based dishes.
CBS has teamed up with a number of game developers to create new video games based on many of their top shows, including The Amazing Race, CSI, Criminal Minds, Ghost Whisperer, Survivor, Diagnosis Murder and Hollywood Squares. What, no Big Bang Theory video game? It could be like Halo, but with math.
While everybody was panicking that 30 Rock had premiered to low ratings in Germany, no one noticed that it was the digital cable premiere of the German-dubbed version. Meanwhile, the English-language versions have been airing on Germany's TNT for a while now, probably right after the German Raising the Bar. Mark-Paul Gosselaar ist wunderbar!

"He of General Hospital fame"
Hee.
Wait. Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr. were first choices for the hosting duties? That would have been amazing. Why couldn't that have happened? :(
I don't think Tina Fey would have done a good job anyway. I love her but I don't think the Oscars would be a good fit for her.
Hi Zach,
I saw your blog and wanted to invite you to the following event:
New York, N.Y. November 5, 2009- Look Before You Leap Film Productions (LBYL), www.lbylfilms.com, a full service film production company, will hold a Premier TV Series Pilot Screening of “Chaos in Gotham,” Saturday, November 14th at 7:00 PM in Scandinavia House Theater located at 58 Park Ave, New York, NY. Get a sneak peak. Go to: http://vimeo.com/7249919. Admission is free of charge.
“Chaos in Gotham” is a one-hour comedy-drama series that addresses the fears of security in a “New Millennium” environment. The TV pilot and subsequent twelve episodes bounce comedy off of the unsettling political issues surrounding national security and cultural bias. Actress Karen Teune plays the role of “Brittany Winchester,” a modern American woman who unknowingly opens the door for a budding self-styled terrorist cell to develop in NYC.
" “Chaos in Gotham” makes light of this darkness, the fears and nervous concerns we're all exposed to. Sometimes clarity comes through comedy, and addressing big issues with a comic twist allows us to chuckle at ourselves and make it through another day with a smile on our face," says Salim Khassa, producer, director and co-writer of “Chaos in Gotham”.
These anxieties are drawn upon a canvas of intentional blindness, which serves a backdrop for the façade for Western society’s current societal outlook. The array of nationalities existent within the cast of thirty actors will appeal to a wide audience.
Filmed in the most culturally diverse city in the world, New York City, “Chaos in Gotham” captures many of the city’s well known sights which were taken from the air. With the struggle to find a balance between justice when dealing with terrorism, maintenance of human rights and the impact of cultural biases, TV series and films concerning these factors have become increasingly prominent. “Chaos in Gotham” centers on these sensitive issues and entices viewers with its unique production design and comic relief.
Look Before You Leap Film Productions (LBYL) encompasses feature-length film production as well as television, documentaries and photography formats. Staffed with experienced producers, directors, writers and photographers, LYBL is dedicated to the pursuit of quality production, creativity and excellence in all aspects of film-making.
