Did you watch last night's Biggest Loser? If so, great -- let's talk about it! If not, run! Here be spoilers. Anyway, those of you who watched know that in a double elimination twist that just about killed everyone, including Bob and Jillian, Shay and Daniel were both eliminated last night. And though I know people don't universally adore Daniel anymore, and that Shay certainly has her detractors (though I am not one of them), how can I honestly be expected to watch the show between now and the finale anymore? To see if Liz goes home next week or, more shockingly, the week after? To see if Rudy and Danny finally weave some "Best Friends Forever" bracelets for each other? To see if Amanda stops whining? (She will never stop whining.) Sorry, but no thanks.
There is still an entire month of the season left and we've already lost both of our sob stories (Shay and Abby, two of the greatest casting achievements in reality history), our villain (obnoxious, grating, Tracey), and the (alright formerly) fan favorite (Daniel). Liz is sweet and there's something tough about Rebecca that I'm sort of drawn to, but they are a far cry from the kind of television Shay and Abby were. Half the time I forget who Rudy and Allen even are, Danny's really only compelling when he's home being sweet with his family, and while Amanda is definitely annoying, she's hardly anywhere near as detestable as Tracey was for a while there. There's no one to root for and no one to hate anymore, so what's the point in watching it? I guess them's the breaks, but I hate when this happens. I don't care about anyone who's left! I'm pretty sure I'll be forgoing the next four episodes in favor of So You Think You Can Dance and just tuning into the finale to see how the people I'm actually invested in are doing. Reality eliminations: they are a cruel bitch.
Oh, and there was no follow-up on how Shay is doing now last night, but if you just can't wait, NBC.com put the vid up this morning. Don't know why they wouldn't just include it in the broadcast, but hey, I don't know why Jay Leno is still on the air five nights a week either. I can't decipher those fools. Enjoy!
Your thoughts on the surprise double elimination? Or just the group's decision to send Shay home over Amanda? Or Jillian trying to get Bob to agree to giving Shay a preferential workout? Discuss below!
