NBC announced their midseason lineup dates today, and here's how it breaks down: Heroes will end (for the season, not for good -- you know that mess is going to be picked up for yet another year) on February 8, to make room for the Olympics, which will begin on February 12. Parenthood premieres on March 1, and the Jerry Seinfeld-produced reality show The Marriage Ref will begin on March 14, while returning shows Chuck and The Biggest Loser will be back on January 11 (which yes, we already knew, smart-ass) and January 5, respectively. Also, we get the awesome, Bret Michaels-infused new Celebrity Apprentice back starting March 14 as well. I just said so much stuff!

After being yelled at by everyone, MTV has decided that everyone is taking that promo footage of Snooki from Jersey Shore being assaulted that MTV originally aired completely out of context in order to entice further viewership, out of context. So they're not going to air it this Thursday or ever, within the proper context they themselves originally aired it out of or otherwise, which should somehow make us all more knowledgeable about and sensitive to the detrimental effects of violence. Just go with it. If you were dying to see it, you've already done so about a million times, between how much MTV has already shown it and all the animated gifs of it your friends definitely sent you last week.

If last night's Dexter twist left you demanding answers, EP Clyde Phillips gave quite a few of them to EW's Michael Ausiello. Personally (and spoiler alert!), I'm just so glad they offed Rita instead of Deb that I can't be anything but relieved, but I know that's a minority sentiment. And one that I will change my mind about once we're suffering through Dexter as a single father of three next year.
