Chuck Lorre continues his death-grip on the CBS network. The showrunner is developing a new sitcom for CBS called Mike and Molly, about a couple battling weight loss. This is just the sort of show we need in America right now -- there is nothing more American than losing weight and Chuck Lorre, and it's not as though there are already a million shows on TV about the same thing. Make it a million and one, please.
Emmy Rossum, Allison Janney, and Justin Chatwin have been cast as members of the Gallagher clan in Shameless. The upcoming Showtime series stars William H. Macy as an alcoholic patriarch of a working-class Chicago family coping with the recession. Maybe since Emmy Rossum is dating Adam Duritz (why has this guy dated everyone?) they can get come Counting Crows music on the show. No? No Crows fans? Suit yourself.
HBO's 10-part miniseries The Pacific, the Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg-produced follow-up to Band of Brothers, is set to air March 24th and weekly after that. The Pacific tells the story of Marines fighting in World War II.
James Franco's SNL promos for this week look promising. I can't say that I would expect anything less after Franco brought pure performance art to daytime television. I highly recommend The Franco on General Hospital. I also recommend The Franco on myself. Wait, what?
The highly in-demand unaired episodes of The Beautiful Life will be shown on YouTube. It's just that popular.
