Anyway, he'll host January 9th with musical guest Alicia Keys. Compared to Barkley, having Sigourney Weaver host on January 16th seems positively cutting-edge, since by that point pretty much everyone in the world will have seen Avatar. Although we'd gladly trade musical guests the Ting Tings for Buster Poindexter, who was the musical guest the last time Weaver hosted in 1986.

We were stunned when the first episode of ventriloquist Jeff Dunham's TV show on Comedy Central broke ratings records, but less stunned when people stopped watching it. Now they've decided not to renew it, and we are going to refrain from putting our hand in a sock and making it say "I told you so." Because, seriously, there are now like five puppets out of work, and that'd just be crass.
