Today's TWoP News: December 7, 2009

Today's TWoP News: December 7, 2009 Monk kicked everybody's asses this weekend, and Puck from Glee wants a makeover. Slow, but kind of fun, news day.

Oh yes, people, VH1 is getting in the Real Housewives game with a docu-drama called Basketball Wives, starring ladies who have either dated, been engaged to, or are currently married to NBA players. This is going to be great for all the obvious reasons, but most importantly, Shaq's wife is a cast member, which means in between all the crazy rich lady fights we may get some bonus screentime with the real Shaq as well. I think I just passed away from reality show induced happiness.

Puck from Glee hates his mohawk. I know he's just being honest, and I appreciate when young actors are candid, but, you know, his diamond shoes are a little too tight too.

Hey, Elisha Cuthbert is joining The Forgotten! And other obvious jokes! (Also, Ausiello is the best, but "Can Elisha Cuthbert Save The Forgotten?" People in the Sudan who don't even know what television is would quickly answer "Of course not.")

I'm no ABC Family fan, but the casting of both Laura Leighton and Alexis Denisof (that's Wesley Wyndam-Pryce to you) in a pilot called Pretty Little Liars definitely has my interest, even though they're just playing parents to a couple of the teenage girls who really star in the show. Meh, worth a pilot viewing, if nothing else.

Monk fans all rallied and broke a basic cable record last Friday. The show's series finale attracted a crazy 9.4 million viewers, and I don't even watch Monk, but that is some real love. I'm a little misty now, I'll admit it.

Oh, and remember when Dollhouse was renewed and Joss Whedon was all "Fox has been so great, we are all best friends"? Yeah, he doesn't feel the need to keep that facade up anymore.
