In their latest ripped-from-the-headlines case, the Law & Order: SVU team will investigate a Lettermanesque blackmailing, with Daily Show correspondent Samantha Bee as the talk show host getting blackmailed. Serendipitous timing, or an attempt by NBC to drag Dave into the mud with Leno and Conan? You be the judge! DUN-DUN!

Speaking of which, Conan O'Brien may not return to The Tonight Show after January 22nd. This is gonna get worse before it gets better, people.

HBO released a trailer for Martin Scorcese's Boardwalk Empire and it looks pretty neat, especially with Steve Buscemi playing somebody with some power for a change. They also announced a release date for Steven Spielberg's The Pacific (March 14) and revealed that their post-Katrina series Treme will air in April, while Spike Lee will follow up his Katrina documentary in the summer. Man, HBO is just a barrel of happiness.

In a bit of good news, middle-aged men can finally rejoice about something! TNT has renewed Men of a Certain Age for a second season, bringing that certain age up to two. Let's hope it lives to see three.
