This is a happy news day, and not just because great things are happening for Glee. But FYI, great things are continuing to happen for Glee.
Cory Monteith announced via Twitter that there will be a live Glee tour! There aren't really any details about it yet, but we are already looking forward to the crazy fans who will be in attendance at those concerts.
ABC has just picked up two new medical dramas. Creator, executive producer, head writer, and goddess of Grey's Anatomy Shonda Rhimes brings us Off the Map, a series revolving around three doctors who move from the US to a tropical clinic, while Chris Murphey and Matt Gross produced Body of Evidence, which sounds pretty House-esque.
Meanwhile, NBC has picked up a comedy pilot from the hilarious people of Reno 911!. The project centers on a former child star who now owns a Hooters-like restaurant in a strip mall outside of Vegas. I wonder if Lt. Dangle will ever stop by for some wings.
Some interesting news is coming out of Smallville, lately. Martha Kent will return this season, which could very well be promising. More excitingly, the upcoming Geoff Johns episode actually looks pretty awesome.
David Hayter, script writer of Watchmen and two X-men movies, is writing a TV series based on the 2009 film Push. No network is attached to the project yet, but people everywhere are on IMDB and Wikipedia, trying to remember if they saw that movie or not.
Rumors are spreading that Billy Baldwin will play Serena's dad on Gossip Girl. I haven't seen him since his cameo in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, where he played one hell of a detective.
Larry David has been awarded the Writers Guild of America's Paddy Chayefsky Laurel award for television. Pretty good! Pretty, pretty, pretty good.
One hand giveth, the other taketh away: Starz has announced that both Head Case and Crash have been cancelled.
And finally, in "Oh my god! Gross!" news, the wretched Kelly Bensimon from Real Housewives of New York is posing nude in the March issue of Playboy. I know someone who won't be invited to Ramona's next social gathering.
