Just because we try to ignore celebrities doesn't mean they'll go away. In fact, they get their own reality shows when they're at their least popular. Look at MC Hammer, for God's sake.
Conan O'Brien finally made an official deal with NBC. For ending his show early, he's getting $33 million, while his staff gets $12 million. He'll host The Tonight Show for the final time tomorrow night. TheWrap has all of the details on their site, but I personally prefer the BBC article about the whole thing because they used the word "ignominious."
I feel like us fans of scripted television are being rewarded for all this crap, because NBC has ordered more episodes of several of their series to compensate for Leno's 10 PM timeslot opening. If only my cold, dead heart had a way of expressing genuine happiness.
Rob Estes has announced he's leaving 90210. Now who will occasionally tell the teens not to do things?
Survivor fans have a reason to celebrate: CBS has announced a casting call contest for future cycles of the show. Host Jeff Probst's contract is up this season, but that's more of a fun fact than an announcement, as he'll probably stay with the show.
And speaking of reality game shows, The Amazing Race has announced it's next competitors, complete with Jorff from Big Brother.
If you can't imagine anyone tackier than Jeff or Jordan, you must have forgotten about David Hasseloff, who's getting his own reality show on A&E about being a stage dad. Get yourself psyched by watching his drunken YouTube video for the 10 millionth time.
Pilot time! Two dramas and a comedy for ABC, while AMC picked up two dramas. Of the five projects, the one that sounds the most interesting is AMC's Walking Dead, based on the comic book about life after a zombie apocalypse.
I wasn't excited in '08 and I'm not excited now: Ashton Kutcher will host SNL on February 6th.
George Clooney's benefit for Haiti telethon is this Friday! His line-up keeps getting better and better, especially now that we know Kanye West isn't allowed to perform. A producing partner simply stated: "After what he said on the Katrina telethon and the way he behaved at the MTV Video Music Awards, everyone agrees it's just best that he does not participate."
It's okay Kanye, you still have a chance to cause a stir because Simon Cowell is organizing a charity single to benefit Haiti. A lot of big names are already on board, including Beyoncé and Lady GaGa.
