BLOGS
Brothers & Sisters is a deeply flawed show, what with its dropped decent plot points, unkillable bad plot points, and frequent inability to move forward, but it's long been one of my favorite guilty pleasures for its cast and loud, dysfunctional (sometimes food) fights. And last night, we got a pretty great episode, actually, all things considered. There was the welcomed end to Rebecca and Justin's baby storyline, the extremely welcomed end of the Holly-selling-her-Ojai-shares-to-a-Walker-hater storyline and an actually believable and mature conclusion of a relationship (a real rarity on this show) with Sarah and Roy realizing that they're not right for each other. But most importantly, we also got Gilles Marini back. The cheesy, wonderfully soapy, romance novel of a plot that is the Gilles Marini and Sarah Walker love affair.
Many of you might think that's a bad thing; the two people I watched the show with last night were retching at the saccharine contrivance, but personally, I think Sarah's a lot more tolerable when she has something nice in her life, and it appears Luc has a career going now, so at the very least she can't hate him for being too perfect a househusband this time around. Plus, I love the way Luc forces all the Walkers to dance with him constantly. It may be ridiculous, but so is 90 percent of what's enjoyable about this show. Now if only we could get Nora something or someone that fulfills her (other than catering to her grown children's every need), we'd have a much less grating family.
But, as usual with Brothers & Sisters, whenever they take two steps forward, they also have to take several steps back. Kitty's park lover from last season returned with a bad haircut and is very interested in her welfare, and I can't think of any other reason to pluck him out of thin air than for him to be her next love interest when Rob Lowe leaves the show in a couple months. Not to mention the fact that Kitty's campaign and spontaneous desire to seek public office is completely stupid, hollow and boring. (This isn't a political show and it never has been. They don't do politics well and they should stop trying.) And we're still going to have to deal with Dennis York and more Ojai business drama in the future, which, I will say again, has never been a very interesting part of the show. And as if those two things weren't irritating enough, Ryan's still alive somewhere. Oh, the humanity.
Luckily this show has trained me to focus on the fleeting good moments whenever they come. Like this one:
Please tell me I'm not the only one in the world who doesn't hate Luc and Sarah.

You are not alone. Especially if he appears half-naked more often.
Actually, I'm thinking I'm the only one who's not a big fan of Luc. He's okay but I cant get what everyone's gaga about. Plus he was only there for like a minute last night so I dont see what was great about that. Oh I just noticed the 'irrational exuberance' tagline. Sorry
Anywayz, I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds the Kitty storyline annoying. I actually wish she was the one leaving instead of Rob Lowe *sob*. And it really does suck that we'll still have to deal with the Dennis York storyline. I guess that's what's going to lead into the flashback episode. And thank god Rebecca finally lost that darn baby, but are we going to have to deal with her sulking for the rest of the season? Cuz I would take the baby over that anyday.
Btw, it's just evil picking on Ryan like that when he's been so kind as to absent himself lately.....lol
Love Luc and Sarah storyline. Just really love to watch these 2 together. Not feeling the Kitty plot.
You are not alone. I find him to be dreamy. :) I feel like the show has gone downhill, but I'm still watching...
Love Luc! Love Sarah and Luc together! The storyline is a shot of caffeine to what was becoming a sleeping show. Lose the Kitty storyline, it's just her ego driving her decisions and it's wearing thin. Oji Foods? Sell it. It's condition has not really changed in 4 years. Give Holly some different lines than the ones she memorized so many years ago. Keep Tommy away. He is just too much of a baby.
Love Luc and Sarah, they are great together, Love to have Luc back, he is awesome and I would never miss a show when he is there. Hate the Kitty policitics.
Now that Luc is back I will start watching again!!!! Thank you!!!
Love Luc Laurent. He brings the best of Sarah. This couple is powerful in a very settle way. yes he's dreamy but also real and honest with his feelings. I want a man like that in my life. I have hope when I see this show every Sunday.
I think luc and sarah are whats getting/keeping most people tuned in..yeah the storylines get a much at times..they should get more background depth for luc..whole other world of options could open up..
