The Jim Nantz ad was hilarious, don't be so sensitive.

Sorry, Mindy. My husband and couldn't stop laughing at the Dodge Charger ad. It's not that middle aged white guys have it so tough. Everyone gets dragged down by life. In our case, it was the "I will watch your vampire TV shows with you," that got us.

Now granted, my vampire TV shows are his vampire TV shows, too. But still, it tickled us in the right spot.

I liked the one with the little boy telling the guy to keep his hands off his momma and his doritos.

Not only was the Lost parody awesome, but Pierre Chang was in another Bud Light commercial -- with scientists going crazy because a giant meteor was headed for Earth. Is that a clue?!

It can basically be summed up by three things: Budweiser, Doritos, and the emasculation of men in popular culture.

I thought the Charger ad as so funny! It wasn't about the woman ordering him around (like the FloTV one, in which case, the dude just needs to grow some balls); the Charger one was about a guy choosing to do all this stuff, even though it's not his favorite stuff to do, and for his escape from it all he'll drive his Charger. I thought it was nicely done. I think you might be complaining just to complain on that one. Nothing in the spot intimated that his girl was an "insufferable bitch." It can be hard to be a good boyfriend sometimes, just as it can be hard to be a good girlfriend. When I need a break I go to yoga or I go shopping. When he needs a break, he drives his Charger. No big deal.

The Megan Fox ad was gross, but that's just because I think she's kind of gross.

Betty White and Abe Vigoda had me laughing for minutes!

Overall, pretty lame commercials this Super Bowl. Only one or two had me even smiling, never mind laughing out loud. The Betty White commercial was one of them. She almost always makes me laugh. The Charger one was okay, although yes it was a bit whiny & stereotypical "dumb guy, demanding woman". The ads were disappointing, as was The Who. Bring back Paul McCartney, or Prince!

The Charles Barkley Taco Bell commercial deserves an honorable mention at least, not for being that clever, funny or original, but it was refreshing to see a celebrity shilling for a product he probably actually uses. I could believe Barkley makes a run for the border more often than Danica Patrick actually uses godaddy.com. Much more often.

My husband was wondering why the guy was upset that he had to go lingerie shopping. His quote "When we go lingerie shopping good things tend to happen later".

what about the punksatony polomalu ad? his pose at the end had me laughing out loud

I LOVED the Dodge Charger ad. It was great. I nodded the whole time.

That and the Betty White ad were my favorites.

I liked the "Green Police" ad. The fact that in some distorted reality it could be true just made it funnier for me. And I'm one of those composting, recycling people who probably should've been offended, but it reminded me of the South Park episode on hybrid cars, and that amused me.

The Betty White ad was my favorite of those I saw, and I liked the e-trade computer baby ads too. I unfortunately missed the first few ads, so didn't get to see the David Letterman / Jay Leno ad or the Lost ad.

The Vizio ad was the one that I found to be kinda creepy. I don't want all those things on my TV - most of which I had no idea what they were - or whatever that was selling: I had no idea on that either. And that lady was scary-looking to me.

I agree that the skechers ad was insulting. It actually made me mad at Joe Montana.

The choose life ad ended up being the biggest waste of air time. The doctors told Tim's parents that he had a very small chance of surviving due to some type of bacterial virus or whatever that she had contracted while doing missionary work overseas. Is that really the demographic that prolifers are trying to reach out to? Willing parents that have been told by doctors that the baby might not make it...

I liked the Doritos ad about the end of the world by asteroid. It was very similar to the Budlight/castaways commerical. But I actually saw the Doritos one last night and somehow missed the Budlight one.

The Charger advert actually reminded me of Dylan Thomas's radio play "Under Milk Wood". There is a part there where the ghosts of Mrs Ogmore-Pritchard's two dead husbands are reciting their tasks for the day, in unison, beginning with "I will put my pajamas in the drawer marked pajamas". Otherwise, I thought it wasn't any more sexist than usual.

I actually liked one of the other Budweiser commercials, too -- the one where they formed a human bridge for the truck. The commercial itself was pretty lame but they used the theme song from the movie "Stripes" so I worshiped it.

What, no love for the fiddle playin' beaver? That was one of my favourites!

I also liked the Bridgestone killer whale commercial.

Can Betty White and Abe Vigoda be in every commercial from now on? Or get their own television series?

No mention of "Keep your hands off my mama, and keep your hands of my Doritos?" Everyone at my party was laughing.

Many of the commercials had me cracking up big time. Didn't like some, didn't understand some, but ultimately, Betty White and just about all the Bud Light ones won with me. Particularly the human bridge one had me laughing so hard I almost peed (seriously). I also liked the Audi Going Green one. Doesn't matter if that's the future, right now, that was FUNNY!!! HATED the prolife and census commercials.

I thought Monster.com had their first enjoyable ad in ages with that violin-playing beaver. It's no "I want to file. All day." But it was cute.

I think the Dodge Charger Ad was really well done. It's not so much about the things they listed as being a pain in the neck for men, it's more that they can easily be related to. That is well thought publicity.
And maybe you didn't realize it, but it's freaking Michael C. Hall narrating, what's not to like?

Also, you say gas guzzler, I say it's a darn fine automobile. Many of the "green" people always talk of the Prius, but in reality you look like you have no class and no self-respect or dignity if you drive around in a Prius. And maybe you've heard what happened to the Toyota cars recently? Be safe, protect your family, buy an SUV, or a Hummer!

I agree that on the whole the ads were very meh. Loved the Doritos bark-busting dog; the Megan Fox one was less irritating than it could have been; and the Doritos kid (don't touch mah momma, don't touch ma doritos) was classic.

Okay. There were two ads for Dove's new line for men. The first one where they were all about macho things to do and were like now that we've got your attention, here's our product was really funny. Everyone at the party we were at thought it was a good one.

I loved the Dove for Men commercial. To me, it got right what the Charger commercial got wrong. These are things I do because I am an adult and a man (just like there are many things I do because I am an adult and a woman), not necessarily things that I hate, but this is one thing that I really enjoy.

Wait a sec. To watch these ads on Hulu, first I have to watch a five-second ad? The mind boggles.

Those Charger, Bridgestone, and FloTV ads *were* sexist. Have the companies that bought those ads forgotten that women make up half the audience? And we buy cars, etc. too, either on our own or with our families.

People know better than to make racial minorities the butt of the jokes, but it's okay to do that to women? No, it's not.

The ads are not just publicity or entertainment. It's about sending a message in order to sell the product. To overlook that is to be deliberately ignorant.

Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
