It's a strange news day to be sure, but one thing is certain: MTV is happy they don't have to make a token effort to play music anymore now that they've ditched that part of their logo.
South Beach, brace yourselves for The Situation. According to Movieline, the cast of Jersey Shore is set to start filming their highly anticipated (at least around here) second season in South Beach. I for one can't wait to hear Snooki say, "I'm going to Miami, bitches!" Still no official word on whether or not Angelina and her garbage-bag suitcases will be making the trip.
The network formerly known as Music Television has also ordered two "extreme-stunt" shows. One I'm excited about, the other not so much. The former is MTV's Parkour Challenge, since there's nothing not awesome about parkour, especially when it's done as a competition. The latter is Dudesons in America. The Dudesons are apparently Finland's answer to the Jackass crew. Let the scrotum stapling commence!
Jeff Probst is doing two more seasons of Survivor. That's a big surprise. Seriously, it's not like they've given Live for the Moment a greenlight or anything.
I know you've all been waiting for this with bated breath, or at least the four of you who bought Mad About You on DVD, but Paul Reiser might be making his big TV comeback. Control yourselves out there.
In other comedy news, Friday Night Lights' Minka Kelly is going to try and be funny on the CBS pilot True Love. I know. I'm skeptical, too.
Lastly, on his vanity card last night Chuck Lorre ranted a bit about the Belarus comedy The Theorists, which is pretty much a Big Bang Theory clone with older-looking guys and a hotter version of Penny.
