 Today's TWoP News: Februray 23, 2010

Worlds collide in today's TV news! I regret to inform you that one of those worlds is Planet Sarah Palin.

Believe it or not, the Obama ladies are total Gleeks! Michelle, Malia and Sasha are such fans of the show that they've invited the cast to perform at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. Here's hoping Puck doesn't screw anything up.

Dancing with the Stars' Lacey Schwimmer won't be on the show this season. I vote Tom DeLay for her replacement.

Seriously, Sarah Palin has been getting way too much spotlight recently. Hopefully, by the time her daughter Bristol cameos on The Secret Life of the American Teenager later this season, she will have faded into the Alaskan sunset.

Deadwood and Kings fans may be happy to hear that Ian McShane is getting cast in the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie. He's supposed to be Blackbeard, but I personally couldn't imagine McShane playing a scary, ruthless leader. Puh-lease.

In semi-interesting pilot casting news, Jane Kaczmarek, Jim Belushi, and a bunch of actors who you probably only know by their former characters' names have all landed roles in upcoming projects.

Archer will be back for a second season! Yay!

And finally, in some wonderful collision of my worlds, here's Anthony Bourdain playing a doctor on Yo Gabba Gabba!.

Shouldn't Bristol have been on 16 and Pregnant? Or how about "My Mother, the Tool? Oops, that was Car, wasn't it?

Whatever, the Palins and The Secret Life deserve each other. And I say this as someone who used to watch TSL obsessively for the lolz, but then it got too bad for me to even watch ironically.

I know Ian McShane better by his voice work. I don't lurv it quite as much as Keith David's, but it's up there on the list.

"Here's hoping Puck doesn't screw anything up"? I think you mean, "Here's hoping Puck doesn't screw anything. Period." He is quite the ladies' man, you know.

Anthony Bourdain and Yo Gabba Gabba? My baby niece and I are THERE.
