Today's TV news has a a pretty fair distribution of the bad (Paula Abdul and Star Search) and the good (every other piece of news). It's a balancing act, really.
Syfy has picked up Three Inches, a 90-minute pilot about an underachiever who "gains the power to move any object using his mind, but only for a distance of three inches. He recruits a team of fellow heroes, each with their own less-than-spectacular abilities." I'm wondering who exactly would make the "less-than-spectacular" cut: Emma Coolidge? Mr. Fantastic? Bender as Super King?
Yet another remake of Star Search is heading to network television. This time, instead of CBS and Arsenio Hall, we're getting ABC and possibly Paula Abdul. I'd make a joke, but I just feel bad for all of the old people who are going to watch this.
As an avid fan of both Jason Segel and the Muppets, I'm pleased to report that the HIMYM star has signed on as the human lead of the next Muppet movie. I'm so excited! I won't even be disappointed if Segel doesn't go full-frontal!
Don't mean to have penis on the brain (a la Dwight Schrute), but now seems like a good time to mention that MTV will be premiering its first ever single-camera comedy, Hard Times, on June 6.
The CW has released season finale airdates for its current line-up. Don't worry, everyone, we still have a solid two months of Top Model smizing ahead of us!
And finally, here's HBO's Boardwalk Empire trailer, to remind everyone that good television shows are still being created. Thanks for not giving up on us, Mr. Scorsese.
