BLOGS
Spies. Witness protection. Sex crimes. Texas Rangers. Private detectives. Police commissioners. Secret identities. Child beauty pageants. Burrowing aliens. These are a few of our favorite things. Well, favorite things to watch TV shows about, anyway. It's not like we're big fans of sex crimes.
Scarecrow and Mrs. King: The Complete First Season
Bruce Boxleitner is... Scarecrow! Kate Jackson is... Mrs. King! We are... psyched that this classic series is finally coming to DVD! We don't know what prompted the release of this show about a spy teamed up with a divorced housewife (The popularity of Chuck? The upcoming sequel to Tron?), but we like it.
Toddlers & Tiaras
Looking at their current reality lineup, it's easy to understand why TLC was once known as "The Learning Channel." Look how educational all of their reality programs are? What do we learn from Toddlers & Tiaras? That child beauty pageants and the women who attend them are ridiculous. Cake Boss? That it's never a good idea to leave cannoli filling out. Little Chocolatiers? That the size of the chef does not affect the taste of the candy. And that's one to grow on.
Hannah Montana: Miley Says Goodbye
Oh, thank God. We're so happy about this that we'll ignore the blatant profit-generating trick of selling the DVD before the episode airs.
In Plain Sight: Season Two
Unfortunately, all copies of this DVD will be placed in mislabeled cases and categorized in the wrong section for their own protection. (Psst. Suburban Commando. Action films. You didn't hear it from me.)
Greek: Chapter Four
Off the top of our heads, we can think of seven show pitches with the title "Greek" that we'd rather watch. For instance: "A classics professor and his comic-geek roommate brother don't understand each other." Bam! Cut. Print.
The Commish: Season One
It's fun to say "Commish." Just the idea that there's an affectionate shortening of the word "commissioner" is funny to us. Are there other show titles that could be shortened? Priv-Prac? Bros & Sisses? 16 and Preggo?
Also out this week:
Super Bowl XLIV
We're assuming it has no commercials, which eliminates most of our reasons for watching it again. Or even once.
Silk Stalkings: Season One
Now that Law & Order: SVU exists, this show seems fairly quaint.
Walker, Texas Ranger: The Seventh Series
Chuck Norris doesn't have a DVD player, but he does have a VCR that reads DVDs, if it knows what's good for it.
Tremors: The Complete Series
That's not a Graboid making the ground shake -- that's excitement.
Tenspeed & Brown Shoe Jeff Goldblum at the beginning of his investigative career.
