It's a slow yet mildly entertaining day for TV news.
Let's start off with the pot calling the kettle black: Donald Trump says The Amazing Race doesn't deserve to win more Emmys. Hmm -- I wonder which series Trump believes the Outstanding Reality-Competition Program award should go to?
Great Brothers and Sisters news: Gilles Marini will be returning as a series regular, while Ryan (Luke Grimes) has finally gotten the boot. Let's hope the changes will make the Walkers just a bit more tolerable.
In more casting news, Alias alum Merrin Dungey has joined Hung; Marcia Gay Harden will appear on Royal Pains in a multi-episode arc; and lastly (and most certainly least), Jamie Kennedy will guest-star on Eureka.
It feels like forever since I've announced a pilot, which is maybe why news about the FX project Outlaw Country, a thriller and family drama about Southern organized crime, sounds so fresh and interesting. Then again, Art Linson and John Linson (Sons of Anarchy) will executive produce, so I don't think I'm going totally crazy, here.
And finally, more reality competition shows! The team behind Amazing Race are making a show for ABC called Catch Me, while Fox has ordered Panic Attack, a pilot that is presumably based on this Maury clip.
