It's a good day for action dramas, a bad day for Jewish girls, and another hopeful day for people who want Heroes to be cancelled.
Fox is making headlines today as it renews both Lie to Me and Human Target while picking up four pilots as series for next season. The lucky winners are police drama RideAlong, "Texas-set drama" Midland, and single-camera comedies Traffic Light and Keep Hope Alive. Hopefully one of these shows will be able to fill the void in our hearts left by the cancellation of 'Til Death (kidding!).
The sassy men of The Bachelorette have been announced, and hilariously, a few sales reps are peppered in there. However, since none of the contestants are from my hometown, they mean absolutely nothing to me so far.
More reason to believe Heroes is getting the boot: Greg Grunberg is appearing in at least one episode of Love Bites, where he'll be (ugh) joining the Mile High Club with (ugh) Jennifer Love Hewitt.
In much less disgusting news, the John Grisham novel (and movie) The Firm might finally become a TV series!
The Sarah Silverman Program has been cancelled, joining the big list of disgusting shows that Comedy Central somehow thought would be entertaining. (What up, Jeff Dunham!)
And finally, casting agents are now looking for Jewish American Princesses for a new reality show. If this makes you cringe, too, I highly suggest checking out Jezebel's takedown of the whole idea.
