Today's TWoP News: Wednesday, May 19, 2010

You know how it seemed for many years there like Smallville would outlive us all? Well, it won't.

Tom Welling has revealed that Smallville will end after next season, its tenth. The CW said it too, just in case you suspected nine years of being on that show has driven Tom Welling to crazytalk.

CBS, ever the edgiest network in the land, will be calling their "Shit My Dad Says" adaptation $#*! My Dad Says and pronouncing it as "Bleep my Dad Says" in promos, instead of the sort of more tame Stuff My Dad Says they'd been considering. And now I feel like a pothead because I'm sitting here telling Angel that if you repeat the words "my dad says" a zillion times they cease to sound like words anymore.

Speaking of CBS, they are moving The Big Bang Theory to the Calcutta of television, Thursday nights, at 8 PM, because they are bastards. Survivor is also moving to Wednesdays (a more manageable night, really) and a few other shows are moving, too, but my point is, goddammit, CBS! Thursday?? Thursday???

Kyle MacLachlan is officially over Desperate Housewives. Stars: They're just like us.

Melrose Place has finally gone from "obviously going to be cancelled since the pilot aired" to "really, officially, for real cancelled now." Please send condolence baked goods and back issues of Katie Cassidy in Maxim to Pablo G ASAP.

TBS and TNT have upfronts too, apparently, and at them they revealed all their new shows that we will be ignoring almost entirely.

ABC might save Ghost Whisperer, but it's not like anybody's going to save me from having to watch the star of Ghost Whisperer have bathroom sex with Greg Grunberg pretty soon (on NBC's Love Bites), so I don't care.

One last thing: Community creator Dan Harmon is a badass. On Twitter, but still.

Nothing but hate right now for CBS. There is nothing at all I want to watch on the broadcast channels most of the week and yet on Thursday there are twice as many shows on at once as my dvr can even handle.

While I like and still enjoy Smallville, good call. It hasn't been the same since season 6 (season 7 was ok-ish), and too many beloved characters left/were killed off (Marthat, Lionel, Lex). Hope they will be able to deliver a good final season.

Adios, Kyle MacLachlan. I do feel bad for him. Orson had a great first 2 years, but the last 2, hasn't had as much to do. Looking back, they should have killed off Orson when the plane crashed and kept Karl. Oh well. This show introduces great characters, but but can't seem to figure out what to do with them once their mystery arc is over. Two other examples, Katherine and Angie. They could have kept Karl with Bree and hooked up Orson and Katherine. Oh well.

Melrose Place - it had potential, but it never seemed to click. It did have a few fun characters, though.

Fred, Three letters AIG>>>in the Caymen Islands? These ianurnsce companies have had a licensce to steal from NJ for far too long however, one reason our premiums are so high is to cover the cost of a the ilegal aliens that drive without ianurnsce, which significantly drives our costs up on many fronts .the ones that Dougherty is courting and that Cresitello wants to make matriculate legally oh and you are sniffing up the right tree Fred The Dougherty's, Gsell-Worths and Wirths have funding and are sending these libelous mailers anonymously against Cryan because they know their entire ticket is a lame duck and last nights debate proved it having sat there for the entire session, the only person on the Dougherty team that seemed to want to be there was Mary If last night didn't make everyone understand why Gsell is running on behalf of his family ( Il just ask the people what they think and hope I dont see tall buildings and get hit by cars when I'm jogging ) and the sleazy poitics they are willing to engage in, must just be uneducated and ignorant

I'm not sure why this qualifies for a hneildae such as you've got to love it , which to me usually means some kind of irony is involved. If he HAD qualified and accepted public funds, and then suggested to have them eliminated, that would be hypocritical and ironic. But since he didn't qualify and didn't receive them, I don't see the conflict. It certainly makes more sense than the raiding of the EMT Training fund lockbox. I mean seriously .isn't the primary intent of public campaign funds to minimize corruption? How's THAT working out so far?
