After you re-watch the Glee finale and cry more tears, come on over for today's TWoP news!
Grey's Anatomy has promoted Sarah Drew to a series regular, despite the fact that it was kind of totally April's fault that Derek got shot in the finale.
Just when you thought Jersey Shore couldn't get trashier, there's a Southern adaptation in the mix. Party Down South is looking for "12 lucky guys and gals who are keepin' it country and want to party their asses off." On the bright side, there's no Confederate flag on the casting call!
Vinnie Jones, who you may know from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and X-Men: The Last Stand has landed regular role on NBC's upcoming drama The Cape. Jones will be playing a bad guy named Scales, a criminal with a rare skin condition that makes him look like he has green and gold... well, scales. I'm really feeling optimistic about this show.
USA Network has ordered cop drama Common Law. The series centers around "incompatible LAPD partners Wes Mitchell and Travis Marks. In order to help them get along, their Captain sends Wes, a former lawyer with a gardening hobby, and Travis, a ladies' man with a juvie record, to couples therapy." The cabler swears that it's funny, but this sounds more like an Adam Sandler movie than a TV series.
And finally, the Style Network has ordered a third season of the reality series Giuliana & Bill. I just heard a rumor that Bill has a mistress in Chicago, and now I'm a little sad. Hope its not true.

I'll watch anything with Vinnie Jones. Well, except Midnight Meat Train.
Why no news about Justified? One of the best new shows on television just ended it's first season, and you all didn't cover it or recap it? Why oh why does Bachelor and Bachelorette get your time and talents and not a great new show?
I'm with Beth. Anything the Real Housewives do gets mentioned in this news column but there is hardly ever anything about the quality stuff anymore. It's not like people aren't watching shows Justified, In Plain Sight or The Closer... but for some reason you guys seem to think shows like these aren't as ipmortant as the 100th cooking or stop-being-so-fat show. It's a trend on TWOP that is bothering me. And I think I'm not the only one.
I thought this website was supposed to be Television Without Pity, making fun of TV shows. What's the point of recapping something good like Justified, unless every recap turns into a Jacob-style stream of consciousness acid trip? You could just, well, WATCH it. And you can talk about everything on the forums, and news breaks on other websites before it breaks here.
Bachelor and Bachelorette get coverage because they're easy to mock or snark. Justified? Not so much.
Ohhhh, Jacob recapping Justified? That's something I'd just love to read!
Guys, the website is operated under the umbrella of Bravo and NBC Universal. Corporate Synergy dictates that certain shows have to be paid attention to whether they want to or not. The fact that the some of the bloggers/editors/recappers actually like said shows is what it is.
I am sure that they would like to recap certain shows, but can't due to legal or conflict of interest reasons.
I certainly haven't gotten recaps of shows that I've wanted TWoP to do over the last 5+ years of reading it, but that's life.
If you want recaps of other shows, I am sure that they are out there somewhere...I will stick with the professionals that are employed here.
P.S. Justified is a pretty good show and I hope it sticks around.
