Back to Basics
When we started watching this series, it was just a spooky crimefighting show. It's evolved into much more than that, but we still love the episodes that focus on the weird urban-legend type stuff that gives us chills. We're always wary of turning on faucets in cabins and we've been sleeping far too well since the angels started on this show. Also, there were some innovative things in among the predictable Bloody Mary stuff. I mean, they did a smoke monster possessing people and crashing a plane ages ago.

Another Apocalypse?
Look, life sucks for the Winchester brothers. We get it. They are damned for all time, etc. etc. However, it might be nice to have a season where there isn't a chance of Satan coming to earth, an impending apocalypse, God intervening or whatever. Just a season where they fight off some regular old evil might be a relief after the insanity of last season.

Less Time in Hell?
Along the lines of the excessive number of apocalypses that have needed to be averted over the course of the show, how many times can people die or be sent to hell or be forever cursed? Having people stay allive or stay dead for an entire season could be an interesting twist. Sure, we still have to see how Sam returns from down under, but it would be nice if he remained earth-bound for a bit afterwards.

Tinkerbell
Another bit of news from Comic-Con is that there's a little fairy coming to wreak havoc on the boys. A bit of light and clever playfulness... but still evil, which is the signature of some of our favorite episodes of late ("The Real Ghostbusters" and "Changing Channels"). More of that would definitely be welcome.

There Will Still Be Mythology
Before the panic sets in for those who watch because of the mythology, it's not like the show is just going to forget about the past, or ignore any references to it; there's just going to be a shift in the number of episodes that will be stand-alone versus the number devoted to mythology. We've pretty positive that this means we won't be stuck with something as disappointing as that final season of Veronica Mars.

Change Is Good
A shakeup behind the scenes can be a good thing or a bad thing, but since Gamble has been with the show since the beginning (as a writer, story editor and producer) we've got a feeling that she wants to do right by both the Winchesters and the fans... though admittedly making every fan happy is an impossible dream. Anyway, she knows our beloved, tormented, Metallicar-driving, evil-killing brothers and has the background knowledge to give us some interesting stories. Maybe they aren't what creator Eric Kripke would have done, but this shake-up has our interest piqued and has us hopeful for next season.
