It's not necessarily that I want people to die on The Vampire Diaries, but if they're going to kill people anyway (like Kevin Williamson said at Comic-Con) then I feel like it is my duty as a fan to just go with it. On a show like this -- which has been ruthless in its first season, taken no prisoners (RIP, Vicki!) and shocked and kept me on the edge of my seat for every episode -- I'm almost excited to see who will be offed and what the fallout from that will be. So if they're going to start killing people, these are the folks I'd be least upset to lose.
Jonathan Gilbert
I may love David Anders (who will always be Sark to me), but this irksome uncle just seems like unnecessary trouble. He got stabbed in the gut by a vicious Katherine during the season-ending cliffhanger, and I'm sincerely hoping that wound is fatal.
Jenna Sommers
She's not really doing a good job guarding her two charges, as one is dating a vampire and the other might be turning into a vampire. It might be fun to see her become Katherine's next victim. How confused would she be if she saw Elena's face right before she died?
Isobel
Technically she's already dead, since she's a vampire and all, but Elena's birth mom really needs to get staked in the heart. Even by vampire standards, she's a heartless bitch who isn't even kind to her child. Let's hope that her second death will be long and wonderfully painful.
Mayor Richard Lockwood
He might be a werewolf or some other supernatural being, but he's really pretty much a big old jerk. One supernaturally hooked-up Lockwood is really all I can stand, and if I had my druthers, I'd pick Tyler. He has annoying tendencies, but I'm more forgiving of those on teenagers. I can always hope he'll grow out of his bad behavior.
Bonnie Bennett
Look, I adored Bonnie. I thought she was amazing, and I loved her even before she was a witch, and then when Whitley showed up as her grandma I loved her even more. But lately, she's just a screw-up taking a stand against all things vampire, and she's putting her best friend in harm's way in the process. I don't want her dead-dead, but I'd love to see this witch get turned into a vamp. She could be like evil Willow. Bring on the black contacts!
Kelly Donovan
Matt's mom is a drunk and totally slutty, so let her embrace her inner bad girl and hopefully leave Matt be. His sister was killed, one girlfriend dumped him, the other is in limbo (don't die, Caroline!) and his life often sucks. He doesn't need a human mom to drive him over the edge. I love Melinda Clarke, but like Bonnie, I'd probably like her even more as a vampire.
Jeremy Gilbert
He may be alive, he may be dead, he may be a vampire... I'm not sure I feel really invested in his future at all. Although here's hoping that, if he's a vampire, he's more entertaining -- a Little Damon Jr. would be good. Though if he's really dead, he can at least rest in peace with his beloved, fanged former loves Anna and Vicki.
Again, if these people stick around, I'm not going to be so upset. The show always does best when it does character 180s and really leaves my jaw on the floor. However, I'm really pulling for Caroline to survive her car accident. Why I love that dimwitted blonde, I just don't know.
