Britney Spears playing a dental assistant to John Stamos is something you never thought you'd hear, but so is Kate Gosselin "performing" at the Emmys. Unlike Real Housewives of O.C. Lynn Curtin, who's also in today's news, we're not high ("on life") when reporting these headlines...
One of America's favorite self-deprecating pop stars will be appearing on Glee, as Britney Spears will be playing John Stamos' dental assistant on the Season 2 episode which will feature her songs. Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy says that the songs will be incorporated as fantasy sequences while the kids are under anesthesia at the dentist. Let's hope it's not anything like her awful commerical for her Fantasy perfume, with John Stamos substituting for Kevin Federline as Britney narrates. Yikes.
Speaking of being under the influence, The Real Housewives of Orange County's Lynn Curtin will not be returning to the next season of the Bravo series. I think viewers have had enough of the (allegedly) stoner couple and their moronic and spoiled daughters, but Lynn has implied that she has been offered her own reality show, which might come as a compromise since the titles How High and Half Baked have already been used for movies.
CW plans to have One Tree Hill characters Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) and Mia (Kate Voegele) appear on Life Unexpected as performers at a Portland music festival hosted by Cate's (Shiri Appleby) radio station. Does CW know that two negatives making a positive only applies to grammar and not TV shows we prefer not to watch?
If Megan Mullally's disabled Chief character on Children's Hospital isn't enough air-time of the funny lady for you, you'll be pleased to know that her role as the manipulative ex-wife to real-life husband Nick Offerman's character will be reprised in Season 3 of Parks and Recreation. I don't think that diner they "reunited" at can handle another sexual outburst like the last time she was on the show. Be strong, Ron Swanson!
While he won't be playing William Shatner's son on $#*! My Dad Says anymore, Ryan Devlin will at least be able to hook up with Busy Philipps again with a return of his role as her love interest on Cougar Town. If they really wanted to make things interesting this season, they should bring Pacey Witter back into her life.
ABC has renewed Shark Tank and added Jeff Foxworthy to the judging panel. Because when you think of quick-witted business decisions, no one else comes to mind but the "you might be a redneck" guy.
Kate Gosselin will be attempting to be funny with Jimmy Fallon during a segment at the beginning of the primetime Emmys telecast. There is nothing funny about that statement, but I'm going to assume the person who conjured up this idea is the same one who thought it'd be great for her to do that "Paparazzi" dance on Dancing With the Stars. Spare us all the pain, please.
