Some people watched the Emmys, some people didn't, and Jon Hamm is coming back to 30 Rock, hooks in hands.
Last night's Emmy ratings are in, and they are... pretty much flat. About 13.5 million is the number most people are going with, up around 32,000 from last year's broadcast, which was held in late September, when there's more competition. So it's bad, apparently. Why do the networks still broadcast this thing, again?
Jon Hamm will be returning to 30 Rock for its live episode, and Paul Giamatti will also guest early in the season as a Staten Island curmudgeon. I'm trying to make a meat hooks/pig vomit joke come together, but unfortunately it's just not happening.
After receiving such a warm reception at this year's Emmys, Kate Gosselin now wants to try acting. Heigl better watch her career.
More illuminating news about that sweatshop Fox is running called Glee -- Cory Monteith and Mark Salling are now publicly claiming their Sony soundtrack royalties are crap. That does seem pretty sad and messed-up (just talk to Ke$ha about it, guys), but so is being unemployed. Maybe it's wise to curb the open bitching at some point?
The Real Housewives of New York reportedly want Jersey Shore money for their next season, despite not having anywhere near Jersey Shore's ratings or merchandising potential. That's weird -- Real Housewives being delusional? That's not like them.

I think that the Emmys is one of those things that most normal ppl just don't care about watching. They can get the headlines later, but it doesn't matter like it does to us TV/pop culture addicts. There's always that huge lull for the miniseries, and Jimmy Fallon was...well, Jimmy Fallon.
Since when is 13.5 million viewers bad? I know lots of dead shows that would kill for those numbers. Let's face it, the days of anything pulling in the 20 millions is long gone.
It' s good for a serial program for for once a year event it's not great in comparison to other recent awards shows. 41mil For the Oscars and 25 for the Grammys.
I agree. Broadband/phone apps/etc. have killed most awards shows. People still seem to tune in for the Oscars, but I think it's mostly out of habit and it's shown when more people are paying attention to network TV.
Rule #64: Under NO circumstances does one EVER accept an upside down kamikaze shot offer from a female bodybuilder.
You have noted very interesting points ! ps decent web site .
