NBC has enlisted Bryan Fuller to reboot The Munsters into some unholy pilot being described as "True Blood meets Modern Family." Nice to see NBC trying to get out of last place by going back to what they're good at: reboots of 1960s television nobody asked for! And as much as we love Bryan Fuller... no. Just no. Besides the obvious, here are the reasons why all parties involved should reconsider this awful idea.
Bionic Woman
Dragnet
Family Affair
Fantasy Island
Get Smart
Knight Rider
The Love Boat: The Next Wave
Melrose Place
The Twilight Zone
And... The Munsters Today.
And that's just right off the top of my head! Your thoughts on a Munsters remake on NBC? Leave 'em in the comments.

sounds like they're going to copy "BBC Being Human" -- a werewolf, a vampire, and a ghost living together, mix it with the old "Munster" some sort show. terrible idea.
While I agree that this has the potiential for disaster, I think Bryan Fuller is probably the only person that could pull it off. His previous shows illustrate his understanding of the wierd and quirky. On the other hand, his shows hardly ever last past two seasons....
I actually thought the Fantasy Island remake had the potential to be better than the original but I don't think most people could get past the corniness that was the original series.
HoneyBee, I believe SyFy is unfortunately already making an American Being Human.
Whenever a new show idea is described as x meets y, it makes me cringe.
Hey, Hawaii Five-0 is doing fantastic, and it's actually a good show, so there's one for the pro list.
HoneyBee, I don't know if you know this, but America is already copying Being Human. Being Human US will premiere on SyFy probably at some point next year.
Sara, I completely agree with you that Brian Fuller may be the only person that could actually make this reboot work.
No. No no no no no.
The Munsters is a comedy. Without and violence or blood.
Modernizing it ala "True Blood" means playing up the sexy angles (obviously with limits if its on network TV, so it will be half-hearted to boot) and the blood. So... no.
You forgot to add "The Bionic Woman" to the list of failed reboots. That one didnt even go on as long as the original, and I think that was only 2 seasons.
Wow...I thought this was TWOP, the place where Bryan Fuller sh!ts bars of gold that smell like vanilla and strawberries.
Very interesting information!Perfect just what I was looking for!. "The higher your station, the less your liberty." by Sallust..
