What's better than Jersey Shore? More Jersey Shore. Plus: some awesome Fringe casting news.
MTV will air a Jersey Shore reunion on October 28, followed by a behind-the-scenes special, which seems confusing, given that it's a candid reality show. Are we going to see them interacting with the cameras? Talking about what it's like being around so many cameras? Don't pull back the curtain, MTV. Let the Wizard be.
In other MTV news, if you care about the Video Music Awards, you may be interested to know that Eminem will be opening the show. Performing, not doing wacky skits with Sacha Baron Cohen. Thank God.
Stephen King fans will be saying "thankee, sai" to NBC if they can pull off the ambitious movie-and-TV adaptation of The Dark Tower they have planned. Good luck getting through all seven books, Mr. Peacock.
In an intriguing team-up, J.J. Abrams has teamed up with Dark Knight writer Jonah Nolan (Christopher's brother) to pitch a crime thriller TV series to the networks. Can they just pitch a Batman series to the networks and get it over with? We're tired of waiting for another movie. And how did we miss that Abrams is also shopping around a series set on Alcatraz, written by a Lost producer? What is it with that guy and islands?
And now it's time for some Guest Star Watching!
- Robert Englund will play a nightmare-causing scientist on Chuck!
- The Ashmore brothers will play doppelgangers from opposing realities on Fringe!
- Hal Holbrook will play a villain on The Event!
- Aquaman will return to Smallville!
- Uh, and the Kardashians will be on 90210. Boy, those kinda got less exciting as they went along, didn't they?
